Hot off cracking his first official case, Frankie Dupont is on the scene when his new teacher takes ill. The pint-sized detective suspects a classic case of sour grapes, but the evidence leads him to the one place he wouldn’t mind avoiding for the rest of his natural life.

Enderby Manor has a few more secrets up her sleeve, and as Frankie begins to unravel them, he uncovers a plot stinkier than a sardine sandwich.

In Book 2 of the Frankie Dupont Mysteries, Frankie will make some new friends, upset some old ones, and of course, there will be lemon meringue pie.

For ages 8-12

My Review

This is the second Frankie Dupont Mystery that I have read. Though the first one was very cute, I liked this one even more. I read so many books that it took me a little while to remember all of the characters from book 1, but once I did I easily got back into the flow of things.

Frankie’s dad is an investigator, so of course, Frankie has a nose for finding clues too. When a lemon pie makes the new head teacher ill and Frankie’s dog refuses to eat any of the spilled pie, Frankie knows it must be poison! Frankie, his cousin Kat, and a new friend Amy are on the case! On a class field trip to the lemon orchard (where the pie happened to originate!), Frankie finds some suspicious activity. Will the bad guys get away with poisoning the pie or will Frankie bring the bad guy to justice? Read Frankie Dupont and the Lemon Festival Fiasco to find out!

This is such a cute book with endearing characters. Your young reader will love reading about Frankie and his friends as they solve mysteries. I highly recommend you get these for your kids! They’ll make a reader out of any reluctant reader.

I have such a hard time finding things that my younger son wants to read! He tends to like non-fiction books but I think he will like this one!
