Spring is a time of renewal and new birth. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been waiting for April, the giraffe, to have her baby forever! As of this writing, she still hasn’t delivered that calf! Poor mama! Did you know that baby giraffes start walking within an hour of birth? April has got to be uncomfortable with a baby that is going to be six feet tall and walking within an hour of its birth growing inside of her!
I love seeing new baby animals. They remind us that new life is always coming into the world. I know that children are fascinated with baby animals and animals in general. That is why I’m happy to be giving away SIX brand new March releases from the Animal Bites series from Animal Planet Books. I’m also giving away a precious book called Wonderful You: An Adoption Story.

Review
I adore this book! Baby animals are just so sweet. The photographs in this book let you and your child meet these baby animals up close. You and your child will learn fun and interesting facts about how baby animals grow and play. You’ll also find out how their mothers care for them as they grow.
One of the animals featured in the book is the Red Panda which I just got to see at the Akron Zoo this past week! I have never seen a baby Red Panda, but Red Pandas sure are cute!
Did you know that a Red Panda isn’t a panda at all? It belongs to its own group of animals. Red Pandas can be found in mountainous regions of Nepal, India, China, Laos, Myanmar, and Bhutan.
These are just a tiny bit of the fun facts you will find in Animal Bites: Baby Animals.

Wonderful You: An Adoption Story
A lyrical adoption story that tenderly addresses a baby’s transition from the care of her birth mother to that of her adoptive parents.
This lovely poem illuminates the role of an adopted child’s birth mother, respecting her choice to give her child to a loving family. We follow a mother’s journey as she carries her child, searches for deserving parents, and ultimately creates a new family. The story offers a version of the process that is full of warmth, care, and joy.
An adoptive mother herself, author Lauren McLaughlin was glad for an opportunity to memorialize her family’s own fairy tale, and Meilo So’s ethereal illustrations breathe magic into an already wondrous experience.
My Review
Wonderful You: An Adoption Story is so sweet. I’ve got friends and family who have adopted, and I am sure it is a tough decision for a birth mother to give up her child. It is a selfless act. Anyone who has gone through an adoption, whether as the birth mother or adopted family, will appreciate this sweet book. The illustrations make it one you can share with a young child too.
