Dying to Read

Cate Kinkaid is just dipping her toe into the world of private investigating until one of the many resumes she has floating around lands her a real job. All she has to do is determine that a particular woman lives at a particular address. Simple, right? When the big and brooding house happens to contain a dead body, this routine PI job turns out to be anything but simple. Is Cate in over her head?

Readers will be hooked from the very first chapter of this fast-paced and witty romantic mystery from bestselling and award-winning author Lorena McCourtney.

My Review of Dying to Read

Dying to Read was a very cute, easy read. Cate is a very likeable, inexperienced PI who lives with her aunt and uncle (who is also a PI). Through this book, she saves a cat (makes her #1 in my book), rescues someone from a tree, gets in some troublesome spots, and, of course, solves the crime. This is not a deep read by any means, but it is a fun break from all of the dystopian books I’ve been reading lately. If you need a cozy mystery, I suggest you grab some tea, some fuzzy socks, a lazy cat, and Dying to Read. I’m looking forward to seeing Cate solve some more mysteries.

I just picked up the first book from Lorena’s Ivy Malone series. In the fall, I love to read cozy books that leave me with a good feeling.
