Sabotaged

Growing up, goody-two-shoes Kirra Jacobs and troublemaker Reef McKenna were always at odds. Now paired together on Yancey’s search-and-rescue canine unit, they begin to put aside old arguments as they come to see each other in a different light. Then a call comes in from the Iditarod that will push them to their limits.
Kirra’s uncle, a musher in the race, has disappeared. Kirra and Reef quickly track the man, but what they discover is harrowing. Frank’s daughter has been kidnapped. In order to save her, the man must use his knowledge as a mechanical engineer to do the kidnapper’s bidding or she will die. Kirra and Reef, along with the entire McKenna family, are thrown into a race to stop a shadowy villain who is not only threatening a girl’s life, but appears willing to unleash one of the largest disasters Alaska has ever seen.
My Review of Sabotaged
It is always sad when a series comes to an end. I cried when Fringe ended. It was the perfect ending to the perfect series! Though I didn’t cry when this series ended, I did sigh a good sigh. This final book wrapped up this series in a wonderful and adventurous way.
This book is about Reef McKenna. While he isn’t the youngest, he is the last to “grow up.” This book focuses on the Iditarod Race and is full of a lot of action. Reef and Kirra make the perfect team. They find themselves caught up in a kidnapping and much more. I don’t want to give away the plot, so I will leave it at that!
The characters in this book are full of life. They face daily struggles, and though the struggles in this book are not something we may ever face, they show us that God is able to get us through whatever we may face. The action is intense, and I love the setting for this story. I do not like being cold! Reading this made me really thankful for my warm house! (Even though I complain that I’m freezing half the time!) I can’t even imagine being in the Iditarod Race! I love dogs, but I prefer them in my house, not leading me miles and miles in the freezing cold. Books can take you so many places, can’t they? I love that this series “took” me on an Alaskan adventure.
I highly recommend this series. I’d definitely start with book one though, so you can get the full story of the McKenna family. It is full of adventure, romance and faith. This series shows God’s love and mercy is always with us. I’m sad that this series is over though Dani Pettrey has said the characters are likely to pop up in more of her books.
