DreamWorks Home
How has your summer been going? Mine is going way too quickly! Every time I think of back-to-school, I get a sick feeling in my stomach. I know a lot of parents love back-to-school, but I can’t stand it! This will only be my son’s second full year in school as he was always homeschooled until his junior year. Yep. That means he is going to be a senior! My baby! My last child will be graduating. Hate it. It was bad enough when my daughter graduated! Where has the time gone?
An update: June 2018
It’s been 2 summers since I wrote this post. Cherish the time you’ve got with your kids. My son is now employed full-time, and I rarely see him! Trust me. Make family time a HUGE priority!
If you’ve been following my Summer Fun Series (SFS) you’ll see that we have done some fun things including:
- Seeing Cinderella, Insurgent, and Age of Adaline
- Going to the Taylor Swift 1989 World Tour and watching Pitch Perfect 2
- Seeing Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 and being super disappointed in it
- Going to Wildwater Kingdom
Our latest adventure was seeing DreamWorks Home at the cheap theater. It. Is. Adorable. I was really worried that it was not going to be that great since it didn’t seem to stay in the big theaters for all that long. I needn’t have worried. It was just so cute and funny.
Home shares the story of Tip, a girl who moved to the US from Barbados, and Oh, an alien from…well, all over! It is a story about wanting to fit in. It is about love and friendship. And it is about never giving up when things get rough! I can’t say enough good things about Home from DreamWorks. You are really going to want to buy this one for your collection! DreamWorks Home was released on DVD and BluRay July 28, 2105. It stars Rhianna, Jim Parsons and Jennifer Lopez. The soundtrack is really good and features songs from both actresses.
Have you seen DreamWorks Home yet? I highly advise you to do it if you haven’t 🙂

We totally missed this when it was in the theaters. I am looking forward to having a family movie night at home and watching it soon!
It is adorable! You guys will have fun watching it!
We saw this movie about two months ago and it was just too cute! My little guy absolutely adored it! I'm glad you got to check it out and enjoyed it as well!
I loved it! I will probably have to buy this one for myself for Christmas.
We saw Home, and it was just the most adorable movie. I can't wait to get it for our DVD.
It is! I want to see it again for sure.
We were curious about this movie but now I know we are going to see it. Going to the movies is so pricey these days we are a little more picky about what we see but this looks like a good one!
I agree! You'll be able to get it at the Redbox soon probably since it is being released on DVD next week.
We absolutely LOVE Home. That little alien is delightfully goofy. It's such a great family film.
Yes, he is! I love the theme that everyone needs to feel like they fit in!
I seen Mall Cop 2. That was pretty funny. I recommend if someone needs a good laugh to watch that one.
Funny movies are great!
Yes, I have already seen this movie with my son, and we really enjoyed it!
Awesome! It really is cute!
I haven't seen the movie Home yet but it really looks so cute. I'm looking forward to picking up the DVD soon.
It is such a cute movie!
I think this is still at the discount theater nearby, so I need to take the kids. We have wanted to see it and I forgot.
You should take them for sure! It is so cute!
Oh Senior year is fun and I bet he will love this year! There will be lots of great memories to create and no matter how old they get they are still your babies.
I agree! I just can't believe how quickly it's gone!
