“I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Monistat. I received a product and promotional item to thank me for my participation.”
Yeast infections. Ugh! No one wants to or has time to talk about those, right? Wrong! It’s Time for TMI! How many of you learned about yeast infections from your mom? Raise your hands….not many, I’m sure. It is just one of those subjects that we avoid. Not anymore! Don’t leave your daughter misinformed. Instead, make her into Miss Informed.
I don’t know about you, but my mom didn’t talk to my sisters or me much about personal stuff like yeast infections. It was a TMI subject, I guess. We had to rely on our friends to tell us stuff like this…like they were so informed, right? Even with all of the instant access to information young women have today, they still are being misinformed! In a recent survey of 16-24 year old women, 53% have no idea what to do when they have a yeast infection. And 66% don’t know they can treat it with an over-the-counter product.
Did you know that 3 out of 4 women will experience a yeast infection at least once in her lifetime? But does she know how she can get it or cure it? Survey says, “No.”
- 81 percent believe having sex is a primary cause
- 67 percent think it can never be cured
- 59 percent believe it is highly contagious
- 52 percent blame laptop heat
Even though I feel like I talk to my daughter about pretty much everything (we’re totally the Gilmore Girls), it is so awesome to have companies like Monistat to provide easy ways we can share this subject with our daughters.
Monistat has launched the “It’s Time for TMI” campaign with lots of information that you can share with your daughters and friends. One thing they’ve created is this great infographic! It has so much information in a handy graphic that you’re going to want to share it with your daughters and friends. Feel free to pin it for future reference.
The infographic is only a small portion of the information Monistat has made available online for you to gather facts to share. Click on It’s Time for TMI for videos and more useful information. Take the TMI Quiz and receive a FREE sample of Monistat Chafing Relief Powder Gel (while supplies last).
Want some FREE coupons? You know you do! There are $12 worth of coupons from Monistat available by clicking this link: Monistat Coupons.
Thanks to our sponsor, Monistat, you have a chance to win the same kit that I received! I love that this kit includes a testing kit, so you can be sure what you have is or is not a yeast infection.
I got 4 out of 5
I had a yeast infection once when I was pregnant. I wouldn’t wish that misery on anyone.
Me either!
What a great campaign and a good way to share info. While I have my own experiences I don’t have a daughter to share them with. I will share this info with my SIL though so she can talk to my niece!
I’ve had mine too, and they aren’t fun! There are super videos on the site too!
I have never had one. And as I do not have children I won’t have to worry about how to bring that up with a teen thankfully! But I do agree, better to be ‘Miss Informed’ than to be ‘misinformed’. =)
Exactly! You can share your knowledge with strangers lol 🙂
I got all five correct!
I love this! There are two thing that women are mortified to talk about: yeast infections and LBL. It doesn’t mean we’re dirty or we don’t take care of ourselves. Our bodies are just prone to these things.
Exactly! We are women with hormones lol.
Yeast infections are no joke! You have a lot of great information here. Monistat is a great product!
Definitely not something to mess with!
Yeast infections are the worst! But having to go to the doctor for a prescription is like adding insult to injury. Monistat is my go-to cure!
Yes, it is! It’s great that you don’t have to go to the doctor!
This is an amazing campaign!! It’s so important for women to feel comfortable talking about their health – reproductive or otherwise. Thank you for helping to break the stigma of yeast infections – they’re not fun, but knowing what’s happening to you and how to fix it makes a world of difference. <3
It definitely makes a big difference when you know that they are not unusual!
yeast infection is the worst. women shouldn’t ignore the symptoms and be open to discuss the problem with obgyn.
Definitely!
I’ve never heard the one about laptop heat! That’s too funny! I’ve always trusted Monistat for yeast infections. 🙂
I know! I’d be in trouble if that caused it lol.
To be honest this is something I have not really thought about but the information is always good to know. So thanks for sharing your informative post!
It’s good to have the info for if you do need it!
I’m glad there are some easy solutions available. This is really good information for young women who may not know a lot about yeast infections.
Right! It can be a hard thing to talk about.
I did not know the causes a of yeast infection so I am glad I read this. I use to get them when I was younger.
I did too. Not fun!
What a very informative blog post today that am sure heaps of people will learn something new! I think it would be great if programs with information like this was brought into schools!
Yes, definitely!
Great infographic! Sometimes we shy away from stuff when it concerns our privates and resort to home remedies. Thank you for sharing this, it would help a lot of women to be more aware about yeast infections.
I think so too!
My mom never talked to me about this. I had this when I was pregnant and I’m glad it went away on its own. I wouldn’t mind discussing this with my daughter.
Good! That way she knows what to expect if she gets one.
My daughters aren’t old enough to have these talks with but my niece and I talk about everything. Thankfully I can’t remember the last time I had a yeast infection.
It’s good to have open lines of communication with your niece too.
Very useful information. It is important to encourage women to never be ashamed and should seek help before matters get worst. Thanks for sharing this!
Yes, it’s nothing to be embarrassed over!
I have had a few yeast infections in my life. It is so uncomfortable i am so happy Monistat is available over the counter.
It’s so convenient!
What a great campaign! I believe that moms today are a lot more open, but there are still so many things left undiscussed. My mother definitely didn’t have these talks with me and she was an RN!
LOL yep times change!
Monistat has great products for women and has been around for year. The test kit could really come in handy for sure. Thanks for sharing.
