Broken Things to Mend by Karey White
Celia is in desperate need of a change–a change of scenery, a change of pace, and a complete redo of all relationships. Not knowing what else to do, she opens a map, closes her eyes, and lets fate decide her future. Then she packs her meager belongings and buys a one-way ticket to a little town on the fringes of Oregon’s Deschutes National Forest called Sisters. She’s wanted a family for years. Will she find one in Sisters?
What Celia doesn’t plan to find is a strange Chinese woman whose meddling ways keep throwing her in the path of a handsome, but reserved, forest ranger. But no matter how kind or dependable Silas seems to be, there are some things in Celia’s past that neither of them can escape, and this time, the damage might be too much to mend.

My Review
I have been looking forward to reading the books that are all part of Power of the Matchmaker series since I found out about it. I read the first novella that introduces “the matchmaker,” Pearl. You can read my review of Power of the Matchmaker by clicking on the title. You’ll want to read it first because Pearl’s story is amazing.
I’ve read a lot of books by Karey White, and I am never disappointed. Her stories are full of wonderful characters and beautiful story lines. Broken Things to Mend is another one of her amazing stories.
Celia is a beautiful person. She has had a horrible life, but she isn’t about to give up. She escapes an awful situation and thankfully, Pearl “sees” her coming and knows just who Celia is meant to have as her match. Silas is a loner because of a stutter he developed after losing his parents at a young age. He doesn’t like to talk to anyone but his Aunt Nancy. When Celia ends up with Nancy, Silas does all he can to avoid her….until he realizes what he’s doing is ridiculous.
You will love reading about how Silas and Celia’s relationship develops and how it survives through rough times. I love these characters and wish that this had been a longer book! I read it all in one day. Make sure you’ve got the time because when you pick this one up, you won’t put it down! I highly recommend it!

I just finished this one last night and I loved it too. I also wanted it to keep going, but then that’s the sign of a good book. I would have loved to read more of Celia and Sila’s story because I was so into the book! Love your review, Christy.
