To Burp or Not to Burp

Of all the questions astronauts are asked by kids, the most frequent one is “How do you go to the toilet in space?”

This book not only answers that question, but many others about the effect of zero gravity on the human body:

How do you brush your hair in space? What happens when you sweat? What does food taste like? The best thing is that the answers are provided by Dr. Dave Williams, a NASA astronaut who speaks from first-hand experience. Written for kids ages 7 to 10, this book uses age-appropriate language to explain the different phenomena that astronauts encounter during a mission. The bright, colorful pages, short blocks of text accompanied by photos and humorous illustrations make this a very attractive choice for young readers. The opening message from Dr. Dave empowers kids to follow his example by believing in themselves and following their dreams.

My Review

To Burp or Not to Burp. That is the question. Well, at least it is the question if you happen to be in outer space! What do you think? Should you burp in space? Ask your kids and they are going to crack up and think you’ve lost it! In fact, this book is full of facts that will leave your kids not only with more information, but it will also leave them laughing like crazy!

Did you ever wonder how astronauts go to the bathroom in space? How about how the eat? Or brush their hair? Or brush their teeth? Think about it! Gravity holds our hair down, so that we don’t end up with an unintended “beehive” hairdo! In space, there isn’t enough gravity to do that! Hair ties come in mighty handy in outer space.

This book is filled with actual photographs of astronauts as well as funny illustrations that will keep your kids totally engaged! This is such a fun way for them to learn about what happens to our bodies in space! You never know. You may have a little astronaut in the making!
