Christmas Love Letters from God

Written for children ages four to eight, Christmas Love Letters from God cleverly combines both prose and poetry as the story of Jesus’ birth unfolds. The book includes seven stories, beginning with Isaiah’s prophecy and ending with the visit of the wise men. Following each story, the child will find his or her own letter from God, folded into a small envelope attached to the page. Each letter begins with a space in which to write the child’s name, so each one can be specially addressed to the child.

Written as if God is speaking, each personalized message gives the young reader a sense of wonder as they discover anew the Christmas holiday and the birth of Jesus. A very special Bible verse, entitled God’s Perfect Promise, also accompanies each story and letter as God’s personal words of love, promise, and hope.

My Review

Christmas Love Letters from God is a wonderful children’s book with several stories about the birth of Jesus. The book starts with the story of Jesus’s birth being prophesied by Isaiah and ends with the story of the Wise Men visiting Jesus as a child.

Each story ends with a lift the flap letter than can be personalized by you with your child’s name. It has a Dear ______, and then a letter to the child from God. It helps your child see how the story in the book relates to them personally! That is what makes this book so meaningful. This would be the perfect gift for you to give your child shortly before Christmas. Read each story to them leading up to Jesus’s birth and read the actual birth the night before Christmas.

I love all of the illustrations and the simple, yet meaningful, text. I highly recommend this sweet Christmas book!
