Hill’s and Pets
My pets are family. Just like I want the human members of my family to be happy and healthy, I want my pets to live happy, healthy lives. I love our vet. He is so kind and concerned about my pets. You can tell that he loves working with animals, because he could have retired years ago! I hope that when he does retire, someone just as amazing takes over for him!
I love that Hill’s is promoting regular vet checks and preventative care. They also want you to know that proper pet nutrition plays a huge role in your pet’s health.
Why is preventative care important?
When you become a pet parent, you take on a huge responsibility. Pets are just like we are. They need healthy food, vaccinations and regular vet checkups. During a checkup, your vet will give your pet a physical examination to check for any possible issues that may not be obvious to us.
Things your vet will check during a preventative care checkup:
- Ears: Some pets are more susceptible to ear infections, but all pets should have their ears examined yearly for mites or infection. Early detection of problems can save your pet’s hearing.
- Eyes: As our pets age, their eyesight may start to deteriorate. If you’ve got a younger pet, you know that eye infections can be common especially when they are kittens. Regular preventative care can prevent blindness and pain that eye infections may cause.
- Mouth: Tooth and gum disease is another thing a vet checks during a preventative care exam. Early detection of these is very important. It could prevent tooth loss. Your vet will also check your pet for oral cancer.
- Joints: If you have pets, you know they can get arthritis or degenerative diseases just like we can. Any joint problems can cause a lot of pain, so early detection is very important in keeping your pet pain free.
- Skin and coat: Your vet will check your pet for fleas, ticks, lumps, bumps, and infections. They know what they’re looking for, so a preventative check up can catch something you may have missed.
Quality pet food
During your pet’s annual vet checkup, your vet may recommend a specific food based on your pet’s particular health needs. Consistent quality nutrition every day can help pets live healthier and happier lives. Veterinarian recommended Hill’s Science Diet has healthy, natural, condition specific foods for your pets. I’m feeding our cats Hill’s Science Diet Perfect Weight, and they love it. You can see how Indiana Jones is enjoying it while Boo Boo makes sure the dog is staying in his proper place.

This is the brand we feed our cat! I have always been really happy with it and it's what the vet recommended, so I know it's a trusted brand.
Pets are family and should always be treated as such. We give the best in food to our family why not our fur babies.
