Ways to stay active during the holiday season

Take your dog on a relaxing walk. Walking is a great stress reliever, and since the holiday season can be stressful, it is important to relax! Stay active and take care of yourself.
Walk at the mall. You know you’re going to be there a lot during the holidays anyway. Get to the mall before the stores open and take a brisk walk. You will you get your exercise in, you’ll feel more energized.
Housework and holiday decorating counts! I know that when we decorate for Christmas, I am VERY active. Carrying boxes of decorations up and down steps is a lot of work. Plus you know you do more housework during the holiday season due to the fact that you’ve got more company coming and going.
Make your holiday movie watching more active. I love watching holiday specials on television from A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving to Hallmark Movie Channel Christmas specials. During commercials, do some situps or squats. Walk around the room while you’re watching. Just fit it in.
If you’re going to be traveling this holiday season, carry a backpack or a carry-on with wheels. You’ll get in some “weight” training that way.
