Real-life couple Alexa PenaVega (Spy Kids franchise) and Carlos PenaVega (“Big Time Rush”) star in LOVE AT SEA, a new, original movie premiering Saturday, August 11 (9 p.m. ET/PT) on Hallmark Channel. LOVE AT SEA is based on Barbara Oliverio’s book “Love on the Lido Deck.” I read and reviewed the book almost 4 years ago! I’m so glad they’ve made it into a Hallmark movie! I loved the characters in the book, and the story was adorable. It looks like they’ve changed the characters’ names, but the story does seem to be the same.
Love at Sea synopsis
If there is a gene for organization, event planner Olivia Grayham has it. By the time she was a teenager she was plotting out family vacation itineraries in hulking binders. After college, she went to work as the event planner at her father’s flagship Miami hotel. Olivia would gladly have remained at the hotel after his death, had it not been for the combination of new ownership and a duplicitous boyfriend eager to advance himself at her expense. Instead, in one fell swoop, Olivia left her job and her boyfriend to strike out on her own.

Her first year hasn’t been easy but Olivia is now poised for a major career boost, courtesy of her best friend Alexandra, a rising Internet star whose lifestyle series “Living Easy” has garnered her devoted following. Alexandra is on the verge of her own breakout moment as she takes “Living Easy” on location for a Caribbean cruise, where she will be joined by celebrity chef Preston Smythe for a cooking segment. Smythe’s participation guarantees not only a bigger audience but possible network attention. With Olivia on hand, Alexandra knows she can rest easy.

Organizing Olivia
Tasked with organizing a multifaceted event for fans onboard and online, Olivia leaves nothing to chance. By embarkation day, Olivia’s trusty binders weigh a ton. She’s plotted the journey down to the last detail and planned for every possible contingency, or so she believes. She’s no sooner onboard than she faces her first curveball: the ship’s longtime cruise director has just been reassigned and she will instead be working with his second-in-command, Tony Rieves, who hopes to make the assignment permanent. Passionate about his work and his ship, Tony has already begun putting his personal stamp on the cruise experience – and some of his innovations happen to impact the logistics of “Living Easy, at Sea.”
With no option but to adjust to each unexpected development that comes her way, Olivia realizes that there are some things that simply can’t be planned or anticipated – like falling love.
