How do you celebrate Easter with your families? Do you have Easter traditions that you used to do as a child that you still do now? I do! We color eggs, hide Easter baskets, go to church and go to grandma and grandpa’s house for a big Easter meal. When I was a little girl, we did the same things. Now, my parent’s are grandma and grandpa (and have been for 25 years!), and one of these days, I’ll be grandma with grandchildren coming over to my house.

I’m going to share some pictures of our Easter traditions, and I’ve got a great downloadable for you too!

I am an April baby. My birthday is April 19th, and once in a great while, Easter falls on my birthday. Well. I was going through my old pictures, and I found the Easter that I was 3 years old. My mom was 8 months pregnant with my sister. So, as I’m browsing these pictures (below), I’m thinking, “Man, I sure was spoiled before I had any siblings! Look at all of the stuff I got.” Then I flipped through a few more pictures and realized that Easter must have fallen on my birthday that year. And here I was thinking that my sisters ruined my spoiled status as an only child. I guess I can’t blame them….

Let’s just break these pictures down. Do you see that dollhouse in the first picture? Yep, I sure loved it. Enter two more sisters…that dollhouse did not survive them.

Now do you understand why I thought I was having such an amazing Easter? I had so many presents for Easter…nope, it’s my birthday too.

Okay, I am literally crying over that first picture. Just look at how we are looking at each other. I was grandma’s girl my entire life. My mom says I would cry so much when she and grandpa left, that grandma would drive me around the block, so I’d stop crying! Grandma and I had a bond; we were kindred spirits. I am so glad that I have that picture even though it’s ancient! Then the second picture is my Easter dress! Totally adorable right?

I want some cake now! I do actually remember that cake, but I don’t remember anything else about that day. The cake is so cute, but I remember not liking the licorice strings or the candy balloons. I still won’t eat licorice or Twizzlers!
