Santa’s Story Book Review

Thanks for sharing!

Publishers Weekly calls Santa’s Story “A light and cheery holiday tribute to tradition and storytelling.” I agree with them!

Santa’s Story

by Will Hillenbrand

Sept 10, 2019
Two Lions
Ages 3-7
32 pages

Santa is ready to leave on Christmas Eve, but he can’t find the reindeer anywhere. Dasher is busy dashing, Donner is dozing, and Cupid is crooning. It isn’t until Santa remembers their annual tradition—reading a Christmas story together—that the reindeer are ready. Will Hillenbrand’s art is as gorgeous as ever–he does snowy landscapes so beautifully!

My review of Santa’s Story

Santa’s Story is such a cute story, and the illustrations are beautiful. They really bring this book to life. I always loved reading to my kids when they were little, and I enjoyed looking at the pictures as much as they did. This is one of those types of books.

You’ll love looking through the pages with your little one as you read the simple text to them. The first time you read this book, you may not notice a cute detail in the illustrations. Once you get to the end, you’ll want to go back and see what you missed. Definitely add this book to the books you’ll read to your child over the Christmas season.

  • I love "Father Christmas" by Raymond Briggs! And perhaps I would purchase "Pete the Cat Saves Christmas" by James Dean!

  • My favorite Christmas story is Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I would choose the book Dasher: How a Brave Little Doe Changed Christmas Forever.

  • No favorite christmas book for me. BUT my goal is for my great niece (3) to love books. And she does love her books. This time of the year I am picking up anything that has to do with Thanksgiving and Christmas.
