Traveling with your family can be murder. One wedding party + one estranged mother = another vacation that goes array for Naomi.
Naomi is off on another international vacation. She thinks traveling with her mother will be the most difficult part of her trip until she meets the rest of the tour group—a wedding party. It only gets worse when she finds the groom dead. Everyone’s a suspect on her Icelandic tour of this stunning country.
Character Guest Post
Here’s a guest post from book character Deirdre, Naomi’s mother in R.I.P. in Reykjavik: A Traveler Cozy Mystery
“Tony, I have to pack,” I told my now ex-beau before I hung up. He kept muttering, pleading his case, as I disconnected the call.
I only had a few hours to pack. My bed was covered with summer clothes. I wondered what the weather would be in Iceland. I picked up my phone to ask someone but had no one to call. I didn’t know anyone who had been there.
I wish my daughter Charlotte wasn’t at college. She would be able to organize all of this in less than an hour. She probably knew what I needed to pack too. She knew everything. My son, Jeremy, could fix anything. And then there was my travel companion for Iceland—my eldest child, Naomi.
She hadn’t found what she was good at, or liked, yet. To be honest, I hadn’t either. But at least I had finished college.
My phone rang. Tony again. I hit decline. I would have to have Jeremy block this guy’s calls. He was going to be clinger.
I was hoping for a peaceful, relaxing vacation with my first born. And maybe meet a new beau. Or better yet, have her meet a nice Icelandic man. From what Charlotte tells me, because Naomi told me very little, Naomi went through men just as quick as I did.
But a peaceful, relaxing vacation with Naomi may be a challenge. Charlotte’s trip to Africa was disturbed by Naomi’s quest to find a fellow traveler’s killer. That couldn’t happen again, could it?
Although, maybe that would be fun too…I would love to be on Dateline one day. I wondered if that white haired presenter on Dateline was single…
About A. R. Kennedy
A. R. Kennedy lives in Long Beach, New York, with her two pups. She works hard to put food on the floor for them. As her favorite T-shirt says, ‘I work so my dog can have a better life’. She’s an avid traveler. But don’t worry. While she’s away, her parents dote on their grand-puppies even more than she does. Her writing is a combination of her love of travel, animals, and the journey we all take to find ourselves.
