I don’t know how I’m going to do it, bro.” Luke dropped his forehead against the window. “Katie is going to be a tiny little human and I’m supposed to, well, basically prevent her from dying?”

Liam’s brow furrowed and he leaned around the cab of his truck. “Where did that come from?”

“Liam, it’s, what? June eleventh? That means we’re about three and a half months from Rae’s due date. What if I fail?” His face paled. “Would you charge me with murder?”

“Nope. I’d have Cam do it.”

Luke threw a sponge at him. “That’s not funny!”

“Actually, it is.” Liam bent over and picked up the sponge. “I’ll also make sure your prison cell is of the utmost comfort and cleanliness.”

“Liam.”

“Yes?”

Luke narrowed his eyes. “You’re supposed to be reassuring me here. Telling me that parenting is not all hard.”

“Parenting isn’t all hard.” Liam grabbed the hose and cranked the wheel. “But being brothers with me is.”

“Wh—”

Luke’s yelp of a sentence was cut off when Liam hit him square in the chest with the hose water. He let out a scream, then raced around the truck to grab the bucket of soapy water.

Liam darted out of his brother’s way, grateful for the one inch height he had on him.

“Liam, stop,” Luke pleaded.

Smirking, Liam angled the hose at Luke’s neck. His younger brother squealed, and his shoulders inched up. Liam let out a laugh that was evil to his own ears and grabbed the bucket from Luke.

“You—”

“What is going on out here?”

Inspiration for her novels comes from both real life + fictional characters and storylines in her brain. The town of Believe is based on her own hometown, but with embellishments.
