Suddenly Samantha finds herself in a race against time to find not only the thief who is stealing from the upscale shops, but a murderer, too. Samantha’s Lab-Mix Sweet Pea wags her tail through all of the clues, suspects and shenanigans. Both Samantha and Sweet Pea are aided in their amateur investigation by the other shopkeepers on the elegant Worth Avenue, and Samantha finds the suspect list growing at every turn.
To make matters worse, Samantha’s old boyfriend arrives in town, and mysterious people start showing up at the Sophisticated Pet and New Age stores nearby. Samantha soon finds that things are not what they seem, and she must figure out what’s going on—or become the next dead body on a bakery floor.

Hi, I’m Whitney. I’ve lived in Palm Beach my entire life and except for the trips I’ve taken to Monaco, Paris and beyond, it’s where I’ve spent most of my time. Who wouldn’t? It has everything a twenty-something girl could want. Sun, sand, and the best shopping in South Florida.
My parents and I live on Ocean Boulevard and though our estate isn’t as large as some, it’s not bad for 2.5 mil, though I could use another tennis court. We only have clay and so many of my friends have both clay and grass.
I was shopping on Worth Avenue the other day and I noticed a lot of dogs walking with their owners. The dogs wore collars and leashes with gemstones, and it made me think…maybe I’ll get a dog. I always wanted one and it’s not like we don’t have room on the estate for him to run around. I’ll just have to make sure he knows how to swim.
Hey! I can make this an adventure! I’ll go to Worth, buy a new bikini, visit the local animal shelter—because I’m not one of those snobby women who need to buy a purebred dog—and then we’ll go home and play in the pool.
Oh, man, I can’t wait. Maybe I’ll get a red bikini and red dog leash with rhinestones all along it. I wonder if they make leashes with diamonds? I’ll have to check it out.
