My review of Three Makes a Family

I’ve yet to meet a Cari Lynn Webb book that I didn’t love. She writes the cutest, sweetest, most charming clean romance books, and Three Makes a Family once again proves this! I’ve read two other books in The City by the Bay series (my reviews are linked above), but all of these books can be read as stand alone books.

This is a bit like a second chance at romance book; however, Molly and Drew, the main characters, were never romantically involved. They were best friends at law school, and Molly always challenged Drew to do better. She believed in him more than he believed in himself. And Molly was always driven by her need to be the best and to attain a better, more stable life than she had growing up.

When Drew’s career is on the line, it’s Molly that Drew’s parents call upon to help their son. After all, she’s one of the best attorneys in all of California, and she just happens to have moved to Los Angeles.

Drew and Molly have their ups and downs while working on his case. Drew finds one of the big “ups” is Molly’s baby, Hazel. Of course he adores his nieces and nephews, but he and Hazel quickly form a heartwarming bond. I absolutely love how Drew interacts with Hazel throughout the book. It’s as if Hazel knows more than Drew or Molly do! Babies are pretty smart.

The way that the romance develops in Three Makes a Family is very believable since Drew and Molly knew each other very well years ago. People do grow and change, but personalities and chemistry almost never do. Drew and Molly do clash at times, but that’s part of real relationships.

The plot, pacing, characters, and romance are all what I’ve come to expect from one of Cari Lynn Webb’s books, and like I said, I’ve never been disappointed! I highly recommend this heartwarming book.
