How to Survive a Marriage Breakdown

Lifestyle

Thanks for sharing!

All marriages run into problems now and again, but sometimes those problems are irreconcilable, and the only course of action is divorce. This can be difficult and heartbreaking, but there is life after divorce.

One of the first things to settle in the house. It’s a good idea to sell the family home and move on; if you or your partner decide to stay, it will make the process of moving on more challenging. So instead, find a warm, comfortable, and safe place for you to establish a new life.

In your new home, you have the chance to create the condition for you to move on from the breakup emotionally. This can be hard and will take some time, so don’t rush it. Instead, be kind to yourself and nourish yourself with healthy eating and exercise.

Although a life you once knew has gone, new possibilities have opened up in front of you. List all the things you can now accomplish with your life, free from the constraints of a committed relationship. It’s time to live in the moment and look to the future.

At the same time as moving on, try to keep your relationship with your ex amicable and as distant as possible. There is a tendency to get wrapped up in the drama of a divorce, so try to minimize this in your life as much as possible.

While some marriages are doomed to fail, there are high success rates for marriage counseling – around 80%. Below you will find some valuable stats on marriage breakdown and divorce.
