It’s a spooktacular time for Jolie and Ava as they have their hands full getting ready to cater Leavensport’s annual Halloween Bash, as well as being in their third trimesters, getting ready for major life changes.

But things get more complicated when a major car accident leaves Jolie fighting for her and her twin girls’ lives. Jolie finds herself in the Betwixt & In-Between World, where she meets up with her psychic relative, finding out more about her ancestry than she ever knew.

Ancestry, Madame Esme Emerald, Vampires draining life, blood, energy out of people equates to those in power for anyone that sits below the throne—ancestry—blue eyes.

Jolie’s mind is playing tricks on her, leaving her wondering if she’s dead, dying, or literally living in a different realm while fighting for her life.

One half of the Bounty-Full Investigative Services is on the case, or is it more of a paranormal manifestation? This could be a first for Jolie as she takes on the underworld’s spirits to rescue her great-grandmother’s soul and get back to Leavensport in time to deliver her twins.

Welcome to Leavensport, OH, where DEATH takes a DELICIOUS turn!

Punkin Strudel Mayhem Book Review

Punkin Strudel Mayhem is filled with the spooky and supernatural.

From the moment she wakes up, Jolie knows it’s going to be “one of those days.” You know those day, right? A day when everything you’re doing ends up a disaster? Me too. Jolie’s day is about to go from bad to awful. When she’s on her way to work, something in the road gets her attention…. And that something leads to Jolie’s major accident. From there, the odd, supernatural things begin happening around her. Then she realizes she’s in the hospital surrounded by friends and family, but she can’t wake up.

Even though I’m someone who is unfamiliar with the series, I enjoyed this supernatural “mayhem.” Without giving spoilers, I’ll tell you this, you’re led down a dark road during Jolie’s coma. She wants to live, but in the Betwixt & In-Between World, she’s not sure she will. In that world, there are those on her side who want her to live, but others want her to die. What will happen? Read to find out!

I like Halloween stories and am crazy about Supernatural (the TV show!), so I liked this very imaginative Halloween story.

Punkin Strudel Mayhem has a satisfying ending for long time Cast Iron Skillet readers and new readers alike. I think cozy mystery readers will enjoy this Halloween novella!

Thanks, Nancy! This was my first attempt at writing in a supernatural way–it was a ton of fun to write! I appreciate your comment! Hope you had a great Halloween and that you have a great upcoming holiday season! Love, ~Jodi Rath

Hi Christy! First off, THANK YOU for catching my mistake on the blurb!!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOUUUUUU! Did Lori tell you I said to thank you? I saved the first draft as the “final” draft and the final draft as the “first” draft then uploaded the wrong blurb! It’s like I’m Jolie in the story! How bad of a day was that when I realized you were RIGHT! OY! I’m so grateful you caught it!

Anyhoo, you were so kind to find that and help me, then my internet got spotty here in the wooded area of Ohio where I live and I didn’t get in here in time to thank you for reading the book and reviewing it, and hosting me and saving my writing life with catching the blurb mistake! Fingers crossed the wi-fi keeps working!

I hope you had a great Halloween and I hope you have a wonderful upcoming holiday season! Love, ~Jodi Rath

You’re welcome! She did tell me. I was quite confused so I am glad I wasn’t really missing something! Have a great holiday season too! Hopefully your internet cooperates!
