Book Review
Greek Heir to Claim Her Heart is another one of Jennifer Faye’s sweet romance books that helps you escape from everyday life. I never had much interest in Greece until I saw Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Those beautiful white homes set with a backdrop of clear blue water just make me want to visit. In this book, the Greek Island is a privately owned island. When the current owner passes away, her estranged son inherits the island along with the private resort.
Hermione Kappas has worked at the resort since she was 18 years old. She’s now the manager of the resort, and of course she is worried about what is going to happen to the resort. But she is mostly concerned about the employees. This speaks a lot to her character in the book. She always puts others needs before her own. She is kind, responsible, and great at her job. She was very close to the prior owner and doesn’t understand why she and her son were estranged.
When that son, Atlas, arrives on the island, he has every intention of selling the island resort. He wants to be out of there in 2 weeks. But as fate would have it, he falls in love with that kind and caring manager.
Though at first Atlas may seem harsh, you will quickly learn that it is because of his broken past with his mother. Atlas is a very strong character. He also cares about others, but he can’t see himself staying on an island that constantly reminds him of his mom.
As with all of the books I have read by the author, I really enjoyed this book. I love that we can take a break from the crazy world and swoon over a sweet romance book. I read this book very quickly because I wanted to know what Atlas would decide about the island. Because even though he was falling for Hermione, he still couldn’t see himself staying there.
The plot moves swiftly, and is very engaging. This is a page-turner that you won’t want to put down. The characters are well developed, and I think you will quickly become attached to them like I was. I have a feeling about who the next book will be about, but I will let you discover that for yourself.
As I said before, the setting is absolutely beautiful. Who wouldn’t want to live on a private Greek island? I can just imagine seeing that blue water and enjoying everything that the resort has to offer. If it were a real place it’s not like I could afford to go to it, but a girl can dream.
The Harlequin Romance line contains books with any love making off scene. And Faye’s are cleaner than some others that I have read in this line. I just add this so you know ahead of time.
If you are in the mood to escape to Greece, you’ve got to read this book. It’s so sweet and charming. The fact that it takes place around Valentine’s Day makes it the perfect book to read right now. I definitely recommend it.
