My review of The Firefighter’s Christmas Promise
Oh, how I love this series! The Firefighter’s Christmas Promise by Tanya Agler is the third book in the Smoky Mountain First Responder series, and I’ve read and loved them all! It is totally unnecessary to read the books in order. Though they’re in the same series, the only thing connecting them is the town and occasional cameos from characters in the series. This book is the perfect book to read to get you into the Christmas spirit.
Becks Porter’s career as a professional soccer player came to an end years ago after an injury, and it’s been her dream to own her own complex where kids can learn not only to play soccer but also to function as a team and more. She finally purchases a place to make those dreams come true. When the building burns down, she thinks her dream is over. And that’s not the only bad thing that happens in the fire, her ex-fiance, Carlos Ramirez, is injured while fighting the fire. This one event changes everything…
The cozy feeling that Christmas brings flows throughout The Firefighter’s Christmas Promise. I’m so envious of these fictional characters who get to live in this small town and participate in the Christmas festival. The author really brings the book to life with the way she describes the area, the festival, the characters…really everything!
The characters in this book are very well-written. I just adore Becks’s daughter, Pippa. She is so adorable! She’s got some really cute lines that had me laughing out loud. The dogs in the book have their own personalities, and the scenes they are in are extra cute. Of course, Becks and Carlos are wonderful, realistic characters. They have a lot to work through both together and on their own. Real relationships only work if you tell your significant other how you feel. Unfortunately, people aren’t mind readers! Wouldn’t relationships be so much easier if we were?
I definitely recommend The Firefighter’s Christmas Promise. It has everything I love in a romance. The wonderful characters, lovely Christmas-time setting, and clean romance make it the perfect holiday read!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
