My review of Finding Their Christmas Home

Finding Their Christmas Home by Donna Gartshore is a second-chance, inspirational romance book that you won’t want to put down! The characters will crawl into your hearts and hold on as the story unfolds. One of the many reasons I enjoy reading books from the Love Inspired line is the fact that they leave me feeling happy! The fact that it’s set during the Christmas season makes me even happier! Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and reading Christmas-y books always leaves me with a cozy feeling.

Jenny left the small town where she grew up right after high school. In doing so, she left her boyfriend, who was also her best friend, behind. She had her reasons, but they didn’t make David’s heart feel any better. Now years have passed and unbeknownst to David, Jenny has returned to her grandmother’s home, known as Christmas House. It wouldn’t matter if David hadn’t had a pipe burst. However, he also had an offer from Jenny’s grandmother to stay at Christmas House, along with his twin daughters, in exchange for doing some repairs. When he shows up at Christmas House, Jenny answers the door, and shock greets both of them.

I adored Finding Their Christmas Home! The characters each have issues deep inside of them. They’ve been through some very trying times which have affected how they interact with each other. I won’t give you any spoilers, but as you can imagine, David has abandonment issues. What we find out is that so do Jenny and David’s twins. Abandonment isn’t the only thing hindering their reunion though. Hurt, fear, and anger flow through and between them too. But God. God hasn’t and will never abandon us. Themes of forgiveness and healing and love flow through the book. These messages remind us that we are loved unconditionally and perfectly by God.

If you are a fan of inspirational, second-chance romance books, you’ll love Finding Their Christmas Home. If you’re like me, you’ll read it in less than a day because you won’t want to put it down! I highly recommend Finding Their Christmas Home for its well-written characters, charming setting, sweet romance, and inspirational themes.
