Tammy stumbles upon a body, and when her aunt refuses to give in to either realtor she disappears without a trace.
With the help of an old schoolmate turned policeman, the writer must step out from behind her computer screen and her fictional mysteries to confront real life crime. If she doesn’t, she may never see her aunt again.

Clothes! Who doesn’t love clothes? If I had one weakness that I would admit to, it’s collecting clothes. I have racks and racks I have accumulated over the years. Dress, casual, winter, summer, my daughter says I could open my own boutique if I wanted to do so.

I think my obsession with clothes stems back to my school years. My parents never had a lot of money and there were three of us to buy school clothes for every September. Yes, I had new clothes, but they weren’t the cool clothes the cheerleaders and the more popular kids wore. A few times in middle school, I remember kids asking what Salvation Army I got my clothes from. It hurt and I don’t think I ever forgot it.

Now, no matter what the occasion is that arises, I have the correct, nice clothes to wear. Not that I’m a social butterfly and go out and party a lot, but a girl has to be prepared. And as much as my girls complain about the amount of clothes I have; I do find them dipping into my collection when they need something to wear.

Let me set the record straight. I don’t buy name brands; I still can’t afford to. But there are a lot of nice clothes out there that are off the rack which a person can feel great in.

At 65, I have found my own style, and don’t base what I wear on what others are wearing. I’m not the 108 pounds I used to be, and things have shifted and shifted quite a bit I might add. I love flowy dresses and skirts and oversized tops. Yes, I am larger, but that’s not why I chose this type of clothes. I feel pretty in them and that is the main objective of clothes…to feel pretty in what you wear.

Looking back over the last twenty-seven years, I was a single mom and my kids didn’t have name brands when they went to school either. They always had new clothes for school, mostly due to my mom, so I guess history does tend to repeat itself. Although to this day, my kids are not interested in name brands and they don’t own one-quarter of the clothes I do. It didn’t affect them like it did me.

When it comes right down to it, I don’t need all the clothes I have. I have put my shopping on stand-by and now I only purchase a piece if it calls my name and I absolutely have to have it.

I know it’s kind of silly to have all the clothes I do because you can’t take them with you. I told my daughter when I’m gone, line up all the racks in the driveway and have a huge sale. There’s enough clothes that I believe it could actually pay for my cremation when sold.

My whole life, I grew up invisible. Having my clothes makes me feel good and gives me comfort. Everyone should have something in their life that makes them feel good, whether it be shoes, purses, books, or even salt and pepper shakers or coffee mugs. If it gives you a tingle of enjoyment, it is worth having in your life.

We are not on this earth long and if you find one thing that makes you happy, even if others don’t understand why, you be you and go for it!
