My review of Her Temporary Cowboy
Fake relationship tropes are my absolute favorite! Yes, I enjoy other tropes, but these usually contain really funny incidents. Her Temporary Cowboy by Tanya Agler has some funny and adorable moments, and I loved it!
I thought I’d read all of the books in the Rodeo Stars of Violet Ridge, but I just realized I missed the second one! You can totally read Her Temporary Cowboy as a standalone. The series does revolve around three rodeo stars, but you really can read them in any order. It’s a good thing too since I want to read the one I missed!
Lucky Harper is a rodeo star with a real shot at winning the finals, but he gets sidetracked when Elizabeth Irwin blurts out that he’s her date for an upcoming wedding. Yep, this is where the fake relationship comes in! They don’t know each other at all, but in her haste to avoid the “no date for the wedding” scrutiny, she takes the easy way out. It’s not easy at all, as her young niece and nephew announce that they saw Lucky propose to Elizabeth! Funny and adorable just like I said! You’ll need to read Her Temporary Cowboy in order to find out if the tangled web gets untangled!
I enjoyed these characters so much! Lucky is truly a good man. He’s good with kids, helpful, knowledgeable, kind, etc. Elizabeth has some major insecurities about her role on the Irwin ranch, yet she finds strength to do her job well and finds the courage she needs to talk to her dad about the ranch. Watching the “real” romance develop between Lucky and Elizabeth was so much fun. It made me smile.
Lucky and Elizabeth both had things about their pasts that they needed to overcome in order to learn how to be together. Trust, truth, and triumph are weaved throughout the novel in a way that seamlessly brings Lucky and Elizabeth to finally be able to have a true relationship.
I highly recommend Her Temporary Cowboy for its well-written characters, fun fake romance trope, and for its happily ever after! Clean romance lovers, you’re going to love this!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
