About the Book
Title: 70 North
Series: Alaskan Cyber Hunters #3
Author: Kimberley Woodhouse
Publisher: Kregel Publications
Release Date: October 15, 2024
Genre: Christian Mystery & Suspense
The Cyber Solutions team has managed to stay one step ahead of the madman who has killed so many. From the original 26 Below cyberattack in Fairbanks to the 8 DOWN serial murders in Anchorage and beyond, they matched wits with the killer and stopped him from reaching his ultimate goals.
But final judgment is coming. And this time, there may be no defeating him.
David “Mac” McPherson has a personal stake in making sure this predator stays down for good. His family died in the cyberattack. Mac knows that God says “vengeance is mine”—but surely an exception can be made.
Surgeon Tracie Hunter is determined to stay sober and keep saving lives in Fairbanks, Alaska—even if it means being a little obsessive. After all, that same kind of determination is how she kept Mac alive after the murderer targeted him. And she won’t let Mac run himself into the grave looking for payback; he’s come to mean too much to her.
Then someone hacks into the system at Tracie’s previous job as a medical examiner and frames her in a murder cover-up. There’s no one else skilled enough to create a digital trail this incriminating—the killer is back in action, exploiting cybersecurity weaknesses to destroy lives. Can Mac stay focused and stop the next attack when his own vulnerability is exposed? Or will his need to make someone pay for his pain allow the maniac to pull ahead and win at last?

My review of 70 North
70 North is the third and final book in the Alaskan Cyber Hunters series by Kimberley Woodhouse, and yes, you’ve got to read the first two books before you read this! Don’t worry; they are just as suspenseful and amazing as this one! These page-turning books will have you reading for hours and possibly wanting to throw out all of your technology! Okay, maybe that’s a bit drastic, but it will absolutely open your eyes to the dark world of cyberterrorism.
Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. As Christians, we know this. And David McPherson “Mac” knows this too. But in the first book, 26 Below, he suffered a devastating loss and has spent the past two years basically living as a hermit and hunting the person responsible. To say he’s angry is putting it mildly. He wants vengeance and doesn’t care what God wants because he thinks that God took everything good from him.
When Mac is ambushed and shot by this cyberterrorist, Tracie Hunter comes into his life. She’s a skilled surgeon who performed five operations on Mac and hasn’t allowed herself to be pushed around by him. She’s put up with his anger and belligerent behavior because she is a doctor who obsessively cares about her patients. She’s also an alcoholic who has been sober for over seven years, and she’s determined to stay that way.
I absolutely loved Mac and Tracie! I’ve followed Mac from the beginning, and I’ve been eagerly anticipating this final novel since I knew he’d have to be back! Mac gets to his absolute breaking point in 70 North, and it was brutal seeing him spiraling. However, it was beautiful watching him return to God. I loved the side characters, who were main characters in their own books. Then there’s the cyberterrorist. Woodhouse did a brilliant job creating this psychopath!
The actual plot that flows through this series is mind-blowing! I think by this point we all know that technology can be used for great things; however, it can be used by evil people with evil intentions. And it is used for that. We’ve never seen anything as extreme as the Alaskan Cyber Hunters series portrays, and I am grateful for the people who are much smarter than I am and who are able to stop most cyberterrorism before it gets out of control. God tells us to trust him and not fear. So, this is something we can worry about or it’s something we can give to God. I know that in the end, no matter what happens, God wins!
I highly recommend 70 North and the Alaskan Cyber Hunters series! These Christian suspense books are filled with edge-of-your-seat excitement and mind boggling technology. The cyberterrorism plot along with the themes of faith and forgiveness will really make you think. All of the books have some romance in them, and though that’s not the main focus, it is very sweet and adds another layer of depth to the novels. 70 North gets 5 huge stars from me!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

I love that there is a romance element. I will read suspense/mystery without it but it’s almost always better when it’s there
