My review of Right Before Their Eyes

Right Before Their Eyes by Carrie Walker is a wonderful, moving story, and I really enjoyed it! Clare Martin and Mason Hughes get a second chance at what might have been in this Romantic Women’s Fiction novel. 

Clare and Mason have known each other for years. They both live busy lives, but they know that they can count on each other. Clare is a social worker and cares for her grandmother with dementia. Mason is in medical school training to become a pediatric neurologist. I love these characters because they care so much about others. They’re willing to sacrifice their time when someone needs them. Clare’s significant other, Aiden, used to be this way. It’s what made Clare fall for him. However, now Aiden is all about his career track to become a judge. He’s no longer available to help Clare with emergencies when she needs him. 

I loved getting to know Clare’s grandma. Even though she has dementia, she is still just as full of personality. Lucia is another wonderful character. She’s 17 and in the foster care system. Through unexpected events, she has to leave a loving foster home and enter a girls’ group home. This is a less than happy situation for Lucia to say the least. Clare tries her best to find her a new home, but as in the real world, there are too few foster homes for too many foster kids. If you’re a crier like I am, Right Before Their Eyes will make you cry, and this situation is definitely one of the times I cried! 

Right Before Their Eyes is such a beautiful book! I absolutely loved how the storylines were weaved together, and impossible situations were made possible due to God’s providence. No, He doesn’t fix every situation, and these situations weren’t completely fixed. However, they brought about a deeper faith and new faith. I loved how Clare finally saw that Mason was whom she loved, and Mason was able to tell her that he’s always loved her. 

I highly recommend Right Before Their Eyes by Carrie Walker. It has well-written characters who face real life struggles. It has a strong message of faith woven throughout. Furthermore, it is a beautiful love story. 5 stars!
