The weekend is a great time for you and your family to do things together and bond. During the week there’s work, school, and other things that can distract everybody from spending quality time together. If you want to make the most of your weekends as a family, these family weekend bonding ideas can help you:
Get Active Together
Getting active together is one of the best ways of bonding as a family. Not only can you all fight the obesity epidemic and stay healthy this way, you all get a great dose of endorphins which is going to make you feel so much happier in general. You could all go for a hike somewhere, or even just find a class in your area that you can all do together. Getting into the habit of staying active is so good for your health, and you teach your kids great habits by doing this.
Go For A Picnic
How about going for a picnic at a nearby park or a pretty area? You don’t need to pack unhealthy snacks to have a picnic. There are so many different healthy snacks you can take, from chopped vegetables with dip to yogurts. All you need to do is make sure you pack everything so that it stays fresh. Make sure you take a thick blanket to sit on and something to help you take your rubbish with you when you leave!
Explore Somewhere New
Maybe there’s a place you’ve always wanted to visit but never been. Go and explore! This doesn’t need to cost much either. There are likely many public transport options you can look at, with apps that can give you a direct link to buses, trains, and more. There are probably lots of different free things you can do too, like museums and sightseeing.
Have Dinner Together
If you don’t have a lot of time to spend together even at the weekend, make sure you at least plan and have dinner together. Ideally, you should do this during the week too, but busy schedules don’t always allow. Families that have dinners together are closer, and studies even show that kids are better behaved and do well in school.
Make Something
Get crafty and make something together on the weekends. What project could you take on? Maybe you could start making a piece of furniture, or even create a vegetable patch in the garden. You don’t need to leave the house to bond!
Go Camping
Camping gets you away from technology, and back to nature. Everybody should spend more time in nature these days. Camping somewhere picturesque for the weekend gives you all a chance to recharge and spend quality time together.
Have A Games Night
Grab your favorite games and have a games night together. You could even invite your extended family members over and have, snacks, films, and so on.

Great ideas! Last weekend, my hubby and son helped me set up for our church Christmas party. We were there all day and it was a lot of work, but it was FUN because we were together. One of my fave memories that I will always treasure.
