Organize Essential Oils with this Quick and Easy DIY

I come from a long line of non-crafty people. It’s just in my blood. My mom isn’t crafty. My maternal grandma wasn’t crafty. Neither was her mom…or probably her mom before her. None of my aunts are crafty. My sisters aren’t crafty. Oh, we try. I remember making these little rake magnets for a craft show in high school because we had to. I’m pretty sure they didn’t sell well. I’ve blocked it out. My niece is sort of crafty when she’s in the mood. You get the point.

I’ve been meaning to “try” to use my essential oils more often, but they were in a slightly inaccessible place. Slightly inaccessible because my son has boots and an old television that should be in the basement in front of where I was keeping them. It is an ongoing struggle keeping up with his stuff, but that is a story for another day. When I go to our local grocery store, I try to look in their closeout section, and I’ve been looking for a cute basket to hold my essential oils. I haven’t been able to find an appropriate sized one.

Today as I was looking around and saw this STERILITE 3 Drawer Mini Unit that was holding random pens and pencils and erasers, so I dumped those into a pencil case and went to trying to be crafty!

Organize Essential Oils with this Quick and Easy DIY

Last year, I found a cute scrapbook set in the closeout section of my local grocery store. My daughter had been looking for a scrapbook for a project at school, and it had cute paper in it and was less than $5! We each bought one because I figured I could use mine for something eventually. Rather than just store my oils in the plain old mini drawers, I decided to bling it up a bit with my scrapbook paper.

It was so easy. The hardest part was cutting straight lines since I still haven’t perfected that skill. It’s also inherited. My mom still remembers when one of her teachers couldn’t understand why she couldn’t draw a straight line. And she wasn’t allowed to cut cakes at church functions either….You get the idea.

Don’t judge my cutting skills. Just appreciate the adorableness of these scrappy pieces!

I think it is cute and now I have it in the living room with all of my other comfort items. It fit 26 essential oil bottles, and I have room for a few more. Now that it is where I can see it, I’ll be more apt to use my oils and get their benefits! Plus now I feel crafty and more organized.

That is a great way to keep your oils organized. My sister in law is into essential oils and could definitely stand a little more organization!! She will love this.

This is a great way to store your essential oils. I have all of mine in a basket right now but this looks like a much better system.

I had mine in little baskets, but it is easier to see what they are this way.

I’m not a crafty person either, I never have been. I try to find ideas like this that will work for me while fitting into the rest of the house.

This is a clever idea to keep essential oils organized. I have mini drawers like that where I keep computer related stuff like flash drives, external hard drives, memory cards and back up power cells. I love the way you spruced yours up to make it look pretty.

I decorate a lot too or just try to personalize my items as much as I can. I usually end up with several cans of spray paint around the home.
