If you’re a Harry Potter fan, you know what house you belong in! Every quiz I take tells me that I’m a Gryffindor, and when I look at 11 Things All Gryffindors Have in Common, it’s pretty accurate. These next few weeks, I’m teaming up with Life, Family, Joy and They Call Me T in a “Getting Ready for FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD” series. This week, I have Sorting Hat Cupcakes for you! You know from HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER’S STONE that the sorting hat is really important. Sorting Hat Cupcakes

These cupcakes are so cute, and they are delicious! My multi-talented daughter made them. I only frosted them and made the modeling chocolate, so full credit to her! As I said before, I’m always Gryffindor, so no surprise here. The first cupcake I chose was….you got it. Gryffindor. Then I had another one the next day. Yep, I got Gryffindor again. And this was after my daughter had shared them with her friends, and there was only one Gryffindor left! It’s fate.

These cupcakes are so moist and delicious. You could use a mix, but they won’t be nearly as good! Once they’re cool, you cut a small portion out of the top, fill them with colored frosting, put the cut out portion back on top, ice them, and top them with a sorting hat! Yummy and fun! To make the sorting hats, you need modeling chocolate. This is the first time we’ve ever made modeling chocolate or worked with it. I think Molly’s Sorting Hats turned out so cute! To make the modeling chocolate, you can follow this recipe from Sugar Geek Show. It was really easy to make and turned out perfectly. Once it was ready, Molly made the hats. You can look at the pictures below to follow her process.
