Tourist season has hit Bushwhack, and Andie Sullivan–owner of Sullivan’s Adventure Company–is ready for her town to fill up with city slickers, snotty teens, and the dollars she needs to keep her business afloat after her messy divorce from Bucky Gunn–local celebrity rafting guide and Sullivan’s main competition. With all her guided tours booked, it finally seems lady luck is on her side.

But then Bucky is found dead. Not great.

And she’s the prime murder suspect. Double not great.

Being framed for murder sucks worse than a rabid chipmunk bite. Andie’s determined to clear her name, and this time her survival training skills won’t be used to fetch an ice pack. But how long can she stay one step ahead of a killer before she becomes the final victim?

Character Interview

Hi, Andie, thanks for talking to us today!

What got you into the adventure business? Have you always been outdoorsy or did that start after you got married?

My father started Sullivan’s Adventure Company. I inherited it from him, but I’ve always been outdoorsy. Sort of hard not be when you grow up with a father who takes you rock climbing as after school playtime.

What do you offer on your adventure tours?

Everything. Rafting, mountain bike tours, hiking, rock climbing, ATV. You name it, and we offer it. But my favorite tours are the rafting ones.

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

Most days you’ll find me going on a good hike. It’s an easy, simple outdoors activity. All you have to do is walk out your front door, breathe in some mountain air and follow the trails.

Are there different levels of “adventure” that people can choose from?

At Sullivan’s Adventure Tours we offer beginner, intermediate and advance tours.

I’m not outdoorsy at all, so how would you encourage someone like me to start exploring the great outdoors?

I’d say it doesn’t take much to enjoy the outdoors. You don’t need to come to my adventure company, although I’d love to have you as a tourist. But really, all you need is a pair of good shoes, nice weather, and some free time. Some of the best ways to fall in love with the outdoors is just exploring your own neighborhood on foot or bicycle.

Now for some “non-business” related stuff that we need to know about you!

Tell us about your family. Brothers? Sisters? Parents still living?

I have one younger brother. Kyle. He works with me at Sullivan’s, though he wants to be a Park Ranger one day. My father passed some years ago, and my mother no longer lives in town. She is wildlife photographer. She’s off somewhere living her second round of her twenties.

Did you grow up in Bushwhack?

Yes. I traveled a bit, but Bushwhack is my home.

Do you have any pets?

No. But I do adore the chipmunk village where I take tourists. I plan to get a dog one day. Or a cat. Maybe both.

What’s the best place to eat in Bushwhack, and what should we order?

Juanita’s. And always get the Christmas burrito: green and red chili.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not doing tours? Hobbies?

That’s a no brainer. Solving crimes in my town.

Finally, is there anything else that you’d like to share about yourself?

My favorite ice cream is Rocky Road.

Thanks for letting us get to know you a little better! I suggest getting both a cat and a dog! Those pet photos where dogs and cats are snuggling are just too cute! Thanks for the outdoors advice too!

About Jodi Linton

Hey Y’all,

I’m just a girl from Texas, minus the big hair…and oh, yeah, a horse. My crew consists of two kiddos, one which inherited my makeup addiction, and a husband still living out his garage band dreams, but in our closet next to my shoe collection.

I love to hang out with my readers, discussing books, recipes and just everyday shenanigans. I got started in the romance community, which you might know a few of my books from there. Now, I’m all about the cozies…and the coffee. Yeah, can’t forget that.

I’d love for you to come join my reader group, Jodi’s Book Corner or come like me on Facebook to discover my books. And chat. Naturally.

This will be a great read for winter. Being transported to the wilderness for a mystery, while stuck inside during the cold and snow.
