Under the pen name, Bailee Abbott this author writes the Paint by Murder cozy series, starting with A BRUSH WITH MURDER soon to be released. Kathryn lives with her husband and furry friend Max in the quiet suburbs of Green, Ohio.

Hot Toddy – a Sierra Pines B&B Favorite!
Ingredients:
½ c. water
1 ½ oz. bourbon or whiskey
1 tbsp. honey
2 tsp. lemon juice
Cinnamon stick for garnish
Lemon slice for garnish
Directions:
1. Bring water to simmer.
2. In a mug – combine bourbon (whiskey), honey, and lemon juice, add hot water
3. Add garnish – cinnamon stick and/or lemon slice
Hot Cranberry-Apple Cider – Perfect drink for those cold fall evenings in Sierra Pines, CA
Ingredients:
2 quarts apple cider
1 ½ quarts cranberry juice (not cocktail; no sugar added)
¼ c. packed brown sugar
4 Cinnamon sticks
1 orange, thinly sliced
Directions:
1. In a large pot, combine cider, cranberry juice, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks.
2. Heat to boiling, then reduce to simmer uncovered – 15 minutes.
3. Strain.
4. Pour into mugs or glasses (Heat it up even more with a shot of spiced rum.)
5. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and/or orange slices.
