Paranormal Cozy Mystery

A ghost, a witch, a sassy cat, and a mystery. Hayden’s adventures in Destiny Falls continue when a mysterious old man keeps popping up to tell her a series of tall tales. Who is he? And is he actually glowing? Are his stories fiction, or is he telling her the history of her family, the enchanted islands, and the witch? And why did a dead body show up . . . of someone who is already dead? Can Hayden and her brave, quirky sidekick, Latifa unscramble this mystery before someone else turns up dead?

My Review of The Ghost Camper’s Tall Tales

If you’ve not read Falling Into Magic and The Disappearance of Emily, the first two books in Destiny Falls Mystery & Magic series, you’re going to want to before you read The Ghost Camper’s Tall Tales and my review! Though the book’s particular mystery is solved within it, the underlying mystery flows throughout the series. And if you love your books with lots of fun magic, you’re going to want to read this series!

Like the prior books in the Destiny Falls series, I jumped into The Ghost Camper’s Tall Tales with gusto! I was very ready for more of Hayden, her family, friends, and this magical town. With each book, you get to see how the relationships are growing. I love that Hayden understands her grandmother more and that her grandmother’s growing affection towards Hayden is evident. Hayden’s relationship with a special someone gets a kick, albeit slow, in the right direction. It’s good to take romantic relationships slowly! We get to know the guys who hang outside of Hayden’s workplace a little more in this one too.

But, of course, the best part of the story is the ghost camper! This magical town reveals new secrets to Hayden regularly, but she definitely wasn’t prepared to meet an actual ghost camping in a forest while the rest of the world waits at a standstill. Once she accepts the fact that this camper is an actual ghost and that he’s friendly, she sits back and relaxes as he tells her his tales. Of course, I’m not going to tell you about his tales! You need to read this series!

I’ve mentioned in my prior reviews of these books how much I love Destiny Falls. As you read these books, you’ll want to jump right in and live there. I love the fun magical ways that the town is always changing to fit the residents needs much like Hayden’s grandparents’ house does. Once you read these, you’ll see what I mean. Oh to live in a place like that! And then there are the cats! I’ll leave their latest capers for you to discover.

This entire series is so much fun to read! The Ghost Camper’s Tall Tales reveals quite a lot of clues, but there is still much to be discovered! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

Character Guest Post

Hello, I’m The Witch!

I’m not being difficult. Okay. Yes, I am being difficult. I’m always being difficult. But, ask all you want, I’m not telling you my name. You can call me The Witch, since if I told you my name I’d be giving away a huge book spoiler.

That’s what everyone calls me now, anyhow. You’d think someone would be courteous enough to ask my name, but ohhh, no. Just call her The Witch since she doesn’t have any feelings. Oh, I have feelings alright. And a whole lot of pent-up anger and frustration.

I’m stuck in a cave, you see. Being punished for misdeeds from years, and years, and years ago. Totally unfair! I’ve almost escaped several times, but my plots have always been foiled. Lately, it’s that newcomer, Hayden Caldwell. She’s so perky and nosy and annoying. And she’s all chummy with my sister who put me in this miserable cave. Oh, so I suppose I can’t tell you who my sister is either, another huge spoiler.

I can tell you that I’m not going to sit by helplessly and let all these folks from Destiny Falls go on about their business in their happy little Hallmark town. I know better. They have their secrets and their schemes and an assortment of villains wandering around town. I’m not always the bad guy, you know?

And, about this Ghost Camper! Ohhh. He makes me mad, too. Thinks he’s so wise and all-powerful. He’s got his secrets. And when Hayden finds out she’s not going to be happy with him at all. And I’ll just sit back and watch and have a good old laugh.

Excuse me. I need to run off. I have a new minion that I’m training and I need to make my Costco list so he can start my shopping.
