About the Book

Title: I’ll Be Home
Authors: Sara Davison, Darlene L. Turner, Helena Smrcek, & Melanie Stevenson
Publisher: Independent (Fab Four Press)
Release Date: October 29, 2024
Genre: Contemporary Christmas anthology

With chaos and confusion all around them, can they find their way home this Christmas?

The people in these four stories are all searching for something—an escaped convict, a job promotion from a love interest, connection to a lost parent, answers across time.

Christmas should be a time of wonder and celebration, but the obstacles each faces seem insurmountable. Even, at times, life-threatening.

Perhaps they will find what they are seeking during this season of miracles and hope. Or maybe, with God’s help, they will discover that the longing of their hearts takes them to places—and people—they didn’t even know they’d been searching for.

I’ll Be Home is a collection of four stories of faith, hope, love, (and trains) that will warm your heart, encourage your soul, and draw you home this Christmas.

My Review of I’ll Be Home

I’ll Be Home is a wonderful collection of four novellas that will warm your heart and put you in the Christmas mood! They are as entertaining as they are unique, and I totally enjoyed every one of them! They’re all set in different locations in Canada which made it even more enjoyable since I’ve only ever been to Niagara Falls!

Mistletoe and Mayhem in the Rockies by Darlene L. Turner is a Christian suspense set in Alberta. Emory, an author, is on a train bound for the ranch her sister and brother-in-law own. When the train derails and passengers are transported to the ranch, one of them is not who they say they are, and they’re dangerous. I really enjoyed this quick suspense with its diverse cast of characters and second chance romance. I’ve read books by this author before, and I’ve never been disappointed!

Love Across Time by Helena Smrcek is a dual-timeline novella, and I absolutely adored it! In the present, Joy is the realtor who sells Nick a home in Niagara-on-the-Lake. When they find old letters and a train set, Joy is thrilled and wants to do everything she can to find someone connected to the letters. These two are grumpy sunshine perfection. Then there’s the wartime whirlwind romance from the past that is a nail-biter! Smrcek is a new to me author, so I’ll definitely be looking for more of her novels to read!

Where My Heart Belongs by Melanie Stevenson was such a fun rom-com! I’ve become more of a rom-com book fan lately because they make me laugh and take my mind off of the real-life craziness for a while! I loved Porsha and Grant’s meet-cute. This is another whirlwind romance, but when you know, you know. I’ll be looking for more from this author!

Just a Gilbert Blythe Kind of Girl by Sara Davison is perfect for all of us who love Anne of Green Gables. It was the first “long” book I read as a little girl of 10 years old the summer I had mono, and it will always be one of my very favorite books. Of course, those of us who love Anne also love Gilbert! Who wouldn’t want a Gilbert in their life? Lucy does! It’s been her dream to play Anne in the annual Prince Edward Island production, and when she gets the chance to do it, she jumps on it. However, she just cannot go without her best friend, August. This friend- to-more romance was delightful! I’m looking forward to reading more by Davison!

I highly recommend I’ll Be Home! It’s such a wonderful Christmas anthology with something for everyone. I give it 5 huge stars!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
