If you’re a new mom or mom to be, then you’re going to want to keep your baby as healthy as possible. There are a number of different debates on this, but here we’re going to talk about the proven ways you can keep your baby as healthy as possible. Take a look!
Be Careful On Days Out
If you’re taking your baby out to a public place outdoors, that’s usually fine as long as you have everything you need with you and they’re comfortable. However, you should be careful on days out at the beginning. Avoiding places like restaurants, cafes, and shopping centers can be crucial, because of all of the germs and things that could be picked up there.
Make Sure Everybody Is as Hygienic As Possible
Make sure that everybody who comes into contact with your baby is as hygienic as possible. Be sure they wash their hands, so they aren’t passing anything onto your baby. Some might see this as overkill, but you can’t be too careful when it comes to your precious bundle of joy!
Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding has been proven to be so much better for babies than bottle feeding. It also allows mother and baby to bond, as well as strengthens your baby’s immune system, keeping them healthier and happier in the long run. The debate rages on as to how old they should be when you stop. Just bear in mind, it doesn’t make any sense for you to start giving them cow’s milk – we’re the only species who drinks another animal’s milk. Cow’s milk is meant for a cow’s baby, just like human milk is meant for human babies. Breast pumps can make this whole process easier. You can get a breast pump totally free if you know where to look.
Lay Them On Their Backs
When laying your baby down to sleep at night, lay them on their back. This is much better for them as they stand less chance of dying from SIDS. If they lie on their side or front, chances are they’re going to be rebreathing the same pocket of air over and over, which can be very dangerous for them.
Let Them Sleep With You
Many people allow their babies to sleep in their own rooms and have never experienced problems. However, studies show that babies aren’t really supposed to sleep on their own. If they do, it can put their hearts under more stress. Co-sleeping can be dangerous too, which is why it’s important you do it right. You might even want to simply have their crib by your bed, as a nice medium. If you think about it, our babies would have slept wherever we slept before we had houses, beds, and all of the luxuries we have now.
These are proven ways you can help to keep your baby as healthy as possible. Look into them more yourself if you want more evidence, and you’ll see how beneficial they can be! Thanks for reading!
