How to Hide Your Cat’s Litter Box in Creative Ways

Cats

Thanks for sharing!

You may like to show off your beautiful cats, but their litter box is not something you want displayed for visitors to see. In fact, you may not even want to see it yourself except at cleaning time. Fortunately, there are several ways to hide your cat’s litter box so that it is not an eyesore in your home.

Boxes

We all know how much cats love boxes! Well, one of the easiest and least expensive ways to hide a litter box is to decorate a large cardboard box and place it over the litter box. You can paint the box so that it complements the decor of the room where the litter box is. Or, you may even want to paint the box so that it looks like a house. You can also cut an opening for a door in a large plastic storage box and use the box as a cover for the litter box.

Cabinets

There are numerous ways to hide a litter box in a cabinet or closet. You can cut an opening in either of these so that the box can be kept totally enclosed and the cat will have easy access to it. Add a small curtain over the front of the opening in a cabinet or even add a pet door to a bathroom or laundry room closet door. You can purchase wicker or wood cabinets specifically intended to hide a litter box like this end table option.

Hide your cat’s litter box in a designated room

If you have the space available in your home, it’s best to put the litter box in a secluded area that is seldom seen by visitors. A laundry room is ideal. A bathroom that guests don’t use is another option. In situations where the bathroom is too small to accommodate a litter box, your next option might be the bedroom closet. You’ll need to be sure there is a way for your cat to enter and exit anytime of the day or night. This may require cutting out a section of the closet door, removing the door completely or leaving it slightly ajar at all times.

Screens and decor

If your litter box must sit in the bedroom, you can use a divider screen to partition off the area where the box is. You might even want to purchase a litter box that doesn’t look anything like a litter box like this cat litter box looks like a real clay pot. Some of these are a little expensive, but if you think of it as part of your decor, the cost may be justified, especially when you see how creative and attractive some of these designs are.

Cat owners can always find a way to accommodate their cat’s needs. It may require a little creativity, but finding ways to hide your cat’s litter box does not have to be a budget breaker for you nor an inconvenience for your cat.

I LOVE these ideas! They go perfect with the home’s decor! We already have our cat’s litter box pretty well hidden. It is located in our upstairs shower stall. It was the most convenient place and out of the way of the grandkids. I definitely pinned these ideas! Thank you for sharing!
