4 Tips for Planning a Perfect Christmas Party

Lifestyle

Thanks for sharing!

The holiday season is a time for celebration, and you may be thinking of hosting your own Christmas party. If your party is right around the corner, then it’s best to start planning early. Because when you’ve settled on a date, venue, and theme, you can make sure all the finer details are hammered out.

Here are four tips to ensure your Christmas party is a success:

1. Save the Date Cards

People’s calendars may be filling up quickly, and you certainly can’t have a Christmas party without any guests. During this often-chaotic time of the year, it’s important to give your family and friends plenty of notice. With that in mind, make it a point to send out a save the date card well in advance to give your guests time to plan.

Depending on the style of the event, your save the date card can include the time and location as well as other fine details. It can be followed later by a more formal invitation, giving your guests just enough information to be excited.

2. Food and Drink for Everyone

One of the most important components of any holiday party is the food and drink. If you plan to have yours catered, make sure to contact the catering company as early as possible due to the busyness of the holiday season. For those who prefer to make and prepare their own food and drink, plan a menu that won’t create a hassle for you.

After all, you don’t want to spend the entire holiday party in the kitchen, as you deserve to enjoy the company of your guests. Anything that can be prepared in advance will make this easier, and finger food can be served throughout the event.

You’ll also want to consider whether your guests have any unique dietary restrictions. These might include gluten or lactose intolerance or allergies. If you are expecting your guests to bring their own alcohol, you should include this information with the invitation.

3. Christmas-Themed Decorations

Decorations can be purchased in advance to transform your space into a Christmas wonderland. If you’re ordering them online, allow for plenty of shipping time and unexpected delays. You’ll also want to decide whether your decorations will be minimal or if you prefer something that really stands out.

Establishing a holiday party theme will help you keep your decorations consistent, which could be rustic, glamour, winter or fun with a Christmas twist. You could even ask guests to dress up for a certain theme, like an ugly Christmas sweater party. Dressing up will get your guests in the mood and work as an ice breaker for those who haven’t met before.

4. Festive Entertainment

For a larger crowd of guests, you may want to organize some entertainment. Consider a band, games, jukebox or photo booth. If you’re depending on the services of others, contact them well in advance to avoid missing out.

Alternatively, you may like to provide your own music, and one of the most common ways to do this is with a streaming service. Include a mix of songs on your playlist, with a few carols to reflect the festive event. Strategically place your speakers to ensure the music can be enjoyed without affecting the conversation.

Make Your Holiday Party Unforgettable

Planning the perfect Christmas party is possible when you get organized early. Send out save the date cards to give your guests plenty of notice, book any caterers and entertainment well in advance, and decide whether you want to incorporate a theme. With these simple tips, your party will be one your guests will never forget!
