Hello there!

I am Millie Paderson, I really hope that you all enjoy JB’s retelling of Mac and I’s misadventures!

Not super comfortable writing this since Mac is definitely better at this type of thing but I really wanted to give a little background on myself. I am from Geneva, Illinois which is a great small town in the Fox River Valley. Being from here, I guess I take for granted how enchanting and magical Geneva can be for newcomers. It certainly does have a charm to it. It somehow has preserved an American small-town charm that dates to the mid-1800s.

I had a happy childhood and life here in Geneva. My parents still live in the house I grew up in. It’s a great neighborhood. I played softball through high school and college. Loved playing softball. Sports can really imbue some wonderful life lessons and skills that I still use throughout my life. Persistence, hard work, discipline. These lessons from being a college athlete I carry with me to this day.

I now work for a small bank in Geneva and enjoy helping families manage their finances and help them get what they need. I am very good with numbers. I am not bragging about it. I am just stating facts.

After some ups and downs in my love life, I have finally met the man that I will spend the rest of my life with. Mac O’Malley is a funny, determined, smart, and really good man. We met and we both just knew we were right for each other. We just know. We laugh a lot and work very well together.

I don’t want him to read this because sometimes he can be a real giant idiot, but I digress.

Kidding!

I could never have imagined getting into the wild situations we’ve found ourselves in, from chasing bad guys through the largest Christmas event in Geneva, getting chased by the good guys all over Chicago and Geneva, and solving murder mysteries!

Life has been both super stressful but also fun, loads of thrilling fun. All because I met this wonderful man, Mac.

Anyway, I need to run. I have to stop at the store to bring a dessert to my Dad’s birthday party. Oh yes, by the way you will meet my family in JB’s books. He didn’t exaggerate any of their characteristics. They are portrayed accurately. No joke.

You will understand when you read the books.

They are something else.

Thanks for reading!

Millie Paderson (soon-to-be O’Malley)
