I’m With You
Can three little words irrevocably change your life?
When the doctors inform Chloe Brennan that her pregnancy is “incompatible with life,” her subsequent choices will change her path forever.
She becomes one of the quiet, unsung heroes of this world, incredibly strong, yet somehow wrongly looked upon as damaged.
Three people will pierce Chloe’s existence: her husband, a stranger, and a precious baby.
One will say goodbye, one will say hello, and one will say both at the same time.
I’m With You is a novel about selfless love and the sacredness of life.
Please note: While this book is a romance novel, it also deals with the sensitive issue of baby loss grief.
The emotions are real, and sometimes dark.
If you are sensitive to this issue, this may not be the book for you.

My Review
Through blogging and reviewing, I’ve become friends with the author and love everything she writes. Our imaginations seem to run similar courses. Things that I would write about are things she does write about. But this book is different. This book is a very personal book to Taylor Dean because her daughter lived the experience that Chloe does in this book.
In losing my husband last fall, I’ve gone through deep grief. Yet I cannot even imagine the pain of losing a child. It is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, yet it happens everyday. And that grief rips through the world and affects us all. We see the pain on the faces of the mothers and fathers who recently lost their children in the ferry accident. It’s real and this book is real. Even though it is romantic fiction, it will have you crying your eyes out.
I love how real this book is. Every little detail makes it become more alive. The characters are so well-written and the emotions they express are completely believable. The way they react to their situations is the way I’d react if it were me going through it.
I don’t want to give away any of the plot so I won’t go into a summary here, but I’ll tell you some of my favorite parts. I love that the characters talk about grief not having a timeline. It is so true. Sometimes I feel like people think I should be getting over losing Kevin. I never will. The pain isn’t the same most days, but some days I just cry and cry and can’t stop. Grief has NO timeline. You can’t tell someone to “get over it.” And I understand that sometimes people don’t know what to say. I’m not even sure how I want people to treat me. Chloe goes through having people tell her to not cry anymore and move on with her life, to people telling her she’s acting too normal (when she’s trying to hide her grief). It just helps to have someone to sit with you sometimes.
I love how the story progresses. There are scenes that are just so sweet and romantic that you just feel all warm and fuzzy inside. And there are setbacks in Chloe’s healing process that I totally get. I love the people who are there for Chloe during those times. And the conflict Chloe faces when she has to make a choice (again, not giving the plot away!) is very believable. I’m not sure what I would have done. What she finds out may have swayed me more than it swayed her. I’m not sure. I guess we never know how we would react until we are faced with the same choice she faces.
I love how she finds healing through her interior design job and through being around her new friends and their children. Her reaction to children is totally understandable. But then when someone who doesn’t know her story gives her a baby to hold, her healing begins. I love the lighthearted scenes as well as the deep scenes.
I know I’ve been pretty vague, but this story is just so amazing, I want you to read it for yourself!! It will be one you won’t want to put down. I tried to stretch it out into like a 3 day read because I know it will be awhile before a new one comes out 🙂 Just know that it IS sad. Yet, it is healing too. I loved it and give it 5 stars!
