My Review of Cold Case Arson Investigation
Thanks to author Kerry Johnson for the early copy of the book, tea, and cute book marks!
Cold Case Arson Investigation is another page-turner from author Kerry Johnson, and once you pick it up, you won’t put it down! It’s the fourth book in her Forest Ranger Rescuers series, but it is written to be read as a standalone. If you HAVE read the prior books, you’ll enjoy seeing what’s going on in the lives of the characters from those books!
When Autumn Jennings took the job as fire marshal, she never expected to see Clay Reiger in her new jurisdiction. It turns out that Clay is a fire ranger in that part of the Allegheny Forest. They have a past from their time serving together in Qatar. A terrible accident happened and both of their lives were changed. Clay basically told Autumn to take off and stay out of his life, and she did.
Needless to say, she’s surprised to see the new Clay. He’s a new creation now that he has found Christ, and his life has changed. Once she sees how he has changed, it doesn’t take Autumn long to tell Clay about the secret she’s been keeping from him for over six years. It takes Clay a little longer to open up to Autumn about his secret, but he really did have a good reason not to tell her.
Clay and Autumn are great characters! You can clearly tell that they still know each other so well even though it’s been several years since they were last together. Furthermore, you can clearly tell that they never stopped loving each other. They work together trying to decide if the case they’re working on is a cold case from many years ago, or if it is a copycat. I loved putting the clues together along with these two. I liked that there was a lot of mystery in this. It’s not just suspenseful…it’s mysterious! Danger lurks practically everywhere they go especially if they’re following a lead. Of course, they eventually solve the case and thanks to God’s divine intervention, get their happily ever after!
I highly recommend Cold Case Arson Investigation and give it 5 stars!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
