Thursday, April 26, 2018 is a date that will forever be burned into my mind. AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR hit the theatres worldwide and a collective gasp could be heard throughout the world. Okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic, but if you’ve seen it, or when you see it, you’ll know it deserves the drama!
INFINITY WAR
AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR is a movie that is 10 years in the making. Every Marvel movie from IRON MAN to BLACK PANTHER have led to this. If you were following along with my Marvel Movies to Watch before Infinity War posts, you’ve read about how I thought things from these movies were going to tie into INFINITY WAR. For now, I’ll let you find out for yourself if I was right.
If you weren’t able to get to all 18 Marvel movies, don’t worry! You can do some last minute cramming by fitting these in:
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Avengers: Age of Ultron
- Doctor Strange
- Captain America: Civil War
- Spider-Man: Homecoming
- Thor: Ragnarok
Click on the movies to see why you need to watch them! I mean, you could just go to INFINITY WAR because your boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse/whoever wants to see it without knowing anything about the last ten years of Marvel, but you’ll be totally lost. This world that is the MCU is a journey that has been carefully mapped out.
I highly recommend you get out there this weekend to watch this movie if you don’t want to hear spoilers! I’m sure they’re out there. I had to stop myself from talking about the movie as we were exiting the theatre just in case someone was coming out of a different movie!
Just the facts ma’am
INFINITY WAR picks up as the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, but a dangerous menace has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, Thanos will stop at nothing to collect all six Infinity Stones in his quest to wield unimaginable power and his twisted will on all of humanity.
Sounds like a happy, light-hearted film right? HA! You will be ripped apart by this movie! You’ll leave the theatre dazed and confused and ready for more! I’m ready to see it again already. Things happen so quickly, that you’re going to have to watch it more than once. You can’t miss one second! Don’t go to the bathroom! You might think you’re emotionally ready, but you aren’t!
From the moment INFINITY WAR begins to the end of the final credits, your emotions will be on a roller coaster!
Different planets, one story
This entire movie is woven together so seamlessly that although it takes place on different planets across the universe, it feels very cohesive.
Watch this featurette about the Avengers going to Wakanda. I love love love BLACK PANTHER, so that part of INFINITY WAR takes place in Wakanda is super awesome.
Humor
Thank goodness for Marvel humor. I mean, INFINITY WAR is super dark and intense, so having humor thrown in at just the right places truly saves your sanity!
I want to say so much more….Oh, wait. I will next week. I’ll give you all until then to see INFINITY WAR. Then we’ll talk spoilers. It’ll be intense. Get your tickets on Fandango and go see this!

It didn’t feel so cohesive to me and it was much more Thor’s movie than Iron Man’s and I wouldn’t have minded having their places switched on the official poster.
