As a busy mom blogger, scheduling me time is put on the backburner. I am on the computer everyday. The time I am online varies, but it is never less than 8 hours a day unless I’m traveling. It’s important to have some me time. I’ve got some ideas for me time, and I’d love to hear yours too.
Blogging Life and Ideas for Me Time
Even when I’m traveling, I don’t get a lot of time to myself. The traveling that I do is almost always blog related which means I’m busy busy busy! I do love it, but when people are jealous of my “vacations” I remind them that I’m working too!
How about those product reviews? Yes, I get things for review frequently. I try to only say yes to things I really need, but I also love to bless others with products I receive. That means I am working for free for those items since I’m giving them away. The items I keep aren’t technically free either since I’m working on reviewing them after I receive them.
It drives me crazy when people don’t think blogging is a real job! We work very hard, long hours. The bulk of my day is spent on social media promoting my posts as well as my fellow bloggers’ posts. We’ve got a symbiotic relationship. Sharing is huge in the blogging world, so it is very time consuming. I’ve been considering hiring a VA, but I haven’t made the jump yet. As long as work keeps coming my way, I’ll be able to and that’ll be a blessing too!
Scheduling me time
I try to take at least a few hours off during the weekend for some me time. Here are my ideas for me time.
Ideas for me time
Me time for me is all about relaxing with a good book, a cozy blanket, and some tea. It is my source of entertainment. Though I do read a lot of books specifically for reviews, I sometimes get to pull a good book from my own shelves.
I recently read a really good thriller called Bitter River by Julia Keller that I picked it up at a yard sale two or three years ago for a dollar because it sounded really good. I didn’t realize at the time, but it is part of a series. Bitter River is the second, but I guess you don’t really have to read the first since I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. There are so many books on my TBR pile right now, but I’m still going to make it a point to read the other books in the series. The main character is named Bell (short for Belfa, poor woman) Elkins who is the county prosecuting attorney in a small West Virginia town called Ackers Gap.
I love a good cup of hot tea even in summer, so that is another way for me to enjoy me time. Tea and books just go together. I’ve got to be careful not to drink it too late at night though if I don’t want to be up all night. And you’ve got to have a cozy blanket. Since you know I love all things cozy, this just makes sense, doesn’t it?
How do you enjoy me time? If you are a blogger, how much time do you spend online a day? Is scheduling me time a priority for you or do you just fit it in? I’d love some more ideas for me time!
