The Incredible Hulk
This week, the Marvel movie you need to watch to get ready for INFINITY WAR is THE INCREDIBLE HULK. You might be saying to me right now, “No. It’s not Mark Ruffalo, I am not gonna do it!” I feel you. Just take a deep breath and watch it anyway. Even though it isn’t Mark, it’s still a good movie with some funny moments. There is an awesome Stan Lee cameo, and I do love Tim Blake Nelson’s acting. Plus there’s that “little part at the end” as my sisters and I always said about our favorite shows. In the little part at the end, Tony Stark shows up and talks to General Ross about the supersoldier program being “put on ice” for a reason (hint, hint) and forming a “team.”
So, THE INCREDIBLE HULK. This movie is supposed to be taking place at the same time as IRON MAN 2 and THOR, so we say, when the Hulk is yelling at the storm, he’s really yelling at Thor, right? In THE INCREDIBLE HULK, Bruce Banner has flashbacks to the incident with the gamma radiation that changes him into the Hulk when he’s really angry or his heart rate gets too high. We find out that Banner has been learning to control his “Hulkness” in this movie, so that’s important.
Even though I think Mark does Banner better, we get introduced to the fact that Banner is extremely intelligent, extremely loyal and extremely vulnerable. It is obvious that he can be talked down from his anger by someone he loves, and, of course, we Marvel people know that in subsequent movies he’s able to be talked down by Black Widow….and Thor in THOR: RAGNAROK. And if you haven’t watched THOR: RAGNAROK yet, why not?? Go!
So, while you’re patiently, or impatiently, awaiting May 4th, watch this one this week. It’ll help you get even more excited for INFINITY WAR.
