Raise your hand if you can relate! I can! What happens to us when we become parents? Nope. We don’t get enough sleep. We sure don’t follow our passions anymore; or if we do, we feel guilty the entire time.

Confession. I have a slight obsession with Antarctica. Whenever I’ve watched television shows where people travel to Antarctica, I think how cool that would be. I watched this documentary on Netflix called “Antarctica: A Year on Ice.” I watched it 3 or 4 times. It’s breathtaking, interesting and cool.
If you didn’t know this about me, I’ll tell you now: I have a crazy imaginary world fixation. When I shared a room with my sister(s), we would ask each other, “What are you going to imagine about tonight?” A lot of the time, I’d say I was going to pretend to live on a houseboat because one of my favorite books was Houseboat Girl by Lois Lowry. In fact, maybe 15(ish) years ago, I was searching for the book, and I am pretty sure I paid close to $50 for it because it was impossible to find. Thanks to Amazon, it’s been reprinted and is way cheaper!
Anyway, I tell you that to say this, watching “Antarctica: A Year on Ice” seriously made me want to be one of the people who live and work there for a year. And it’s not all sciency people who live there! They’ve got to have people running the store, cafeteria, phones, etc. There are jobs for everyone! I’m pretty jealous of Bernadette since she gets to follow her passion all the way to Antarctica! Yeah, yeah, I know it’s fiction. So is my imaginary world.
Speaking of Antarctica, grab the printables I have about penguins here.
