Lizzy Bennet loves life as a lawyer in the city. And not just because of the miles it puts between her and her ex. However, when she’s attacked on the street just hours after learning her identity was stolen, she tries to call home for help and ends up with the last person she expects: the very same high school boyfriend who broke her heart. He says he’s there to help, but she’s not so sure, and now, all the endless questions and regrets are clouding her judgment and preventing her from seeing the dangerous saboteur closing in.
Small-town auto mechanic, Koby Knightly, is looking forward to seeing a car show in the city. But when an unexpected call from his old girlfriend disconnects suddenly, he rushes to her aid. Throwing his plans out the window, Koby makes it his mission to protect her and discover the identity of the person trying to frame her. Will he also be able to figure out what went wrong between them back in high school or will a killer get to her first?

My review of Sprinkled with Sabotage
I really enjoyed reading Sprinkled with Sabotage by Allison Pearl. It is the first book that I have read in the Love and Danger in St. Claire series though it is the third book to feature these characters. I don’t think that it is important to start with the first book in the series; however, if you plan on reading books 1 and 2 there are things that can be considered spoilers in book 3.
Sprinkled with Sabotage is a clean Christian romantic suspense novel. Unlike some books I’ve read lately that fall into this genre, the author clearly explains the importance of having a relationship with God. While I welcome the message of the gospel, I know that when a reader is not expecting this, they may not appreciate it. (So, there’s your disclaimer.)
In Sprinkled with Sabotage, Lizzie Bennet is an attorney who works at a large firm. but her job is mainly research and handling pro bono cases. She is hoping for a promotion when her life is turned upside down. Someone is trying to discredit her character. They are trying to implicate her in criminal activities. When she is attacked one night walking home, she inadvertently calls her ex-boyfriend Koby Knightly who immediately comes to her aid.
This book has a lot of action, excitement, and suspense. It did take me a little while to get into the story since I did not know the characters prior to this book. But once I was able to connect with the characters, I read the book very quickly since I didn’t want to put it down.
I think that the main theme in Sprinkled with Sabotage is forgiveness. Lizzie and Koby are still dealing with events that happened their senior year of high school. Lizzie hasn’t forgiven Koby, and Koby hasn’t forgiven himself. With Lizzie’s brother’s help, Koby comes to understand that by holding on to his guilt, he is not trusting in God’s forgiveness. That really hit home with me as I am sure it will with other readers. How often we as Christians cling to our past mistakes feeling guilt over things that God has long ago forgiven.
If you are a fan of this genre, I really think that you will enjoy Sprinkled with Sabotage as much as I did. Not only will you be entertained, but you will also be uplifted. I definitely recommend this book to fans of Christian romantic suspense novels.

I like the covers of the books with the donuts on them. The title Sprinkled with Sabotage sounds intriguing,. It’s nice that the review mentions that this is a Christian suspense romance, that way no one is caught off guard if they aren’t expecting the religious elements within the story.

Honestly I don’t think the cover matches the content. From looking at the cover, it looks like a comedy, not something suspenseful or uplifting.
