Texas is the largest state in Southern part of America, and it has a lot to offer anyone wanting to vacation here or take a city break. Texas is made up of deserts and pine forest with plenty of cities and things to do. The capital of this state is Austin; however, you don’t need to go to Austin to have fun. There is plenty to do in some of the other popular cities dotted around this vast state. Here are some special Texas hotspots to consider for your next trip to Texas.

The rodeo in Fort Worth

Back in the day, Fort Worth was the doorway into the USA and has kept to its cowboy roots. The rodeo that takes place here each year is a calendar highlight. Even just taking in the vibe of this city or visiting the special cowgirl museum will add to your experience. It’s based in north central Texas and is easily accessible. Fort Worth also has great art, with many museums to take a look at on your vacation here.

Galveston Island

Its very own island in the Gulf of Texas, approximately fifty miles from Houston, you will find Galveston Island. The island itself is around twenty-seven miles long and three miles wide making it a truly unique place to visit and spend your vacation time. It’s not one of the mainstream attractions, so it would be worth checking out a guide to Galveston Island before heading out there.

I live in Texas, but I’ve only been to two of the best hotspots! Texas is a BIG state. I’ve been to the Riverwalk as well as Dealey plaza. I enjoyed both of them very much for different reasons. Dealey plaza is a somber location, but an important part of our history.
