The Match Maker
by Karey White (The Husband Maker #2)
(Summary contains spoilers if you have not yet read book #1, The Husband Maker)
It’s been six months since Charlotte and Kyle broke up, and the Husband Maker strikes again. Kyle is officially engaged, while Charlotte is still nursing a broken heart. In an effort to get Charlotte out of her rut, she and her best friend decide it’s time for some good old-fashioned matchmaking.
While Aleena arranges for Charlotte to meet up with a handsome Scottish tourist, Charlotte gets her two best friends together. But when sparks start to fly between Aleena and Angus, Charlotte is left feeling more alone that ever–at least until the charming Scotsman becomes more than just a safe, rebound guy and teaches her that maybe, just maybe, she can dare to open her heart again.
My Review of The Match Maker
The problem with Karey White’s books is that they are so good, I finish them in a day! Then I have to wait for the next one! I read the first book in this series, The Husband Maker, in a day. And now I’ve read The Match Maker in a day as well.
Charlotte has the nickname “The Husband Maker” because every man she breaks up with (or gets broken up with!) marries the very next woman he dates. In this story, Charlotte becomes a match maker when she sets her best friend Aleena up with her other best friend Angus. Angus is not too crazy about the idea, but he goes out with her anyway. Aleena ends up falling hard. And Angus ends up being a jerk to Charlotte….you’ll find out why.
Meanwhile, Charlotte starts having appointments with (“dating”) Flynn, a Scottish tourist. He is funny and charming but lives over 4,000 miles away from San Francisco.
Charlotte’s mom is not crazy about the idea of Charlotte’s continued contact with Flynn even after he’s gone back home. He invites Charlotte to visit the Isle of Lewis, and after “something” (you’ll see what) happens, she takes him up on his offer and spends two weeks there.
Will Charlotte move to Scotland to be with Flynn? Is she meant to be with him? Is he “the one”? Or is “the one” right where he has always been? This is another GREAT story by Karey White. I highly recommend this sweet, clean romance.
