Did you ever think we’d get to this point? January seems like it was so long ago! I’ve been passing these countless days by re-watching the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies in their theatrical release date order. Finally we’re getting to the end. This means INFINITY WAR is almost here! 17 days. This week we watch GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 to get ready!
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2
If you’ve been following me lately, you know that GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 is quite possibly my favorite Marvel movie. I say quite possibly because sometimes I change my mind. It’s my prerogative. I will say that it definitely has some of my favorite characters and lines. I’ve done a review of this movie in the past which you can go back and read. Since it had only just been released on Bluray at the time, I didn’t go into a lot of details for fear of spoilers.

Now, it’s been plenty long enough, so I know you’ve seen it! You know what I meant when I said that GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. The intensity of Nebula’s character really got to me in this movie. Karen Gillan just rocks Nebula, and I can’t wait to see how her character continues to evolve in INFINITY WAR. I REALLY hope she has a hand in bringing down Thanos. She deserves that. Actually, all of the Guardians have a good reason for wanting revenge on Thanos.
Gamora is a character whose life may be in danger in INFINITY WAR. There are theories that Thanos will sacrifice his “favorite daughter” as part of his master plan. I’m sure you’ve seen this trailer showing Thanos with a young Gamora, taking her away from her home planet. I’ve heard that Gamora gets major screen time during the movie, so I hope that doesn’t mean she dies….I have a feeling she will though!
I really feel like, in general, the Guardians will play a big part in INFINITY WAR since they are the ones who actually know stuff about Thanos! In my GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY post, we talked about the orb and how it holds an Infinity Stone. Though there isn’t a stone in Vol. 2, I still feel like I could go on and on about how this movie really is leading us up to INFINITY WAR.
I think this trailer shows that the Guardians will be in Wakanda though it’s a little hard to tell. What do you think? Is Starlord in Wakanda here?
INFINITY WAR is going to take us on a ride that I’m not sure we’re emotionally prepared for…just like GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 took us on a somewhat similar emotional ride with Yondu’s death. I’m still not over it! Ready or not, in 17 days we’ll have our answers. I hope you have your tickets already or you might be out of luck for opening weekend. Search high and low people!
