It was supposed to be the perfect vacation, dreamed up by Kate as the ideal way to turn 40: four best friends and their husbands and children, spending a week in a luxurious villa under the blazing sunshine of Provence.
But there is trouble in paradise.
Kate suspects that her husband is having an affair—and that the other woman is one of her best friends. One of these women is willing to sacrifice years of friendship and destroy her family. But which one?
As Kate closes in on the truth in the stifling Mediterranean heat, she realizes—too late—that the stakes are far higher than she ever imagined. And someone in the villa may be prepared to kill to keep their lies hidden.

My review of The Vacation
The Vacation is another spine-tingling thriller from author T.M. Logan. I read it in a little over a day because I just couldn’t stop reading. I’d get to the end of a chapter thinking, “I need to get something done,” but the chapter end would leave me hanging. There was no point at which I wanted to put it down except when I had to eat or sleep.
The Vacation is a book in which most of the characters are not very likable, either because they’re hiding secrets, or they’re self-absorbed. The most likable character is Kate and Sean’s nine year old son, Daniel. He’s so full of life. Daniel may just be a budding cinematographer. He loves to film things, and like any nine year old, he doesn’t care if he’s invading people’s privacy or not. I also liked Izzy, but I’ll let you get to know her when you read this novel.
In the beginning of The Vacation, before we start to see the characters for who they really are and what they’re hiding, I felt like I could most relate to Jennifer. She stayed home with her kids, and when they went to school, she got a job at the school. Now that they’re teens, she’s having a hard time letting them grow up. At least this is the impression you get at the start. But things aren’t always as they seem.
You can’t help but get caught up in the train wreck that this trip becomes. Little by little, things start happening…little things that you just know will culminate in disaster. I love this “slow burn.” Following clues, observing behaviors, making assumptions…I love thinking I have something figured out then finding out that I was completely wrong.
The Vacation is absolutely a novel that I recommend. 5 stars.
