Pressure Cooker General Tso’s Chicken
We love General Tso’s Chicken in this house, but it can get expensive if we order out all of the time. This Pressure Cooker General Tso’s Chicken recipe saves both time and money! The sauce is very tasty and so easy to make. It’s also much healthier than take-out. Be sure to use low sodium soy sauce. This recipe is salty enough as it is!
General Tso's Chicken
This General Tso's Chicken is so delicious, and it's much better for you than what you'd order for take-out!
Ingredients
- 1 lb. chicken boneless, skinless
- 2 tbsp sesame oil enough to cover the bottom of your pot
- 6 tbsp apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar
- 6 tbsp low sodium soy sauce It's salty enough without using regular!
- 1/4 cup Hoisin sauce
- 4 tbsp brown sugar packed
- 1/4 tsp ginger
- 1 tsp dried garlic
- 1 1/2 cups cooked rice
- 1 1/2 cups cooked broccoli optional
Instructions

Turn your pot on to saute

Cut chicken into cubes and saute in sesame oil for about 2 minutes

In a small bowl, combine vinegar, Hoisin sauce, low sodium soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger and garlic.

Pour sauce over chicken, seal and cook on manual high for 10 minutes.

Do a quick release and set pot to saute again.

Add cornstarch, and whisk for 2 minutes. Sauce should be thick and bubbly.

Serve over rice and broccoli.
If you’ve got more than 3 family members, you can use more chicken, rice and broccoli. The sauce should be enough for up to 2 lbs. of boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Adjust it if you need to.
